  1. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be much help. We had an automatic clutch so was a double clutch replacement which was done under warranty, thankfully. We tried arguing the point that the wiring loom could've been damaged while replacing the clutch but got absolutely nowhere. We too were told it was a very unusual fault, we had to wait a long time for the part to arrive. We just had to pay up in the end. I really hope you manage to get your problem resolved because I know how stressful it is when you feel you are not being listened to
  2. My car is ready to collect at long last. I've found the above discussions very interesting. As I said in original post that the coolant leaked into the engine wiring loom, but why this would happen is a mystery as surely all the wiring would be well protected from this happening. My worry is that when our automatic double clutch was replaced the wiring loom was damaged then, but would be impossible to prove?
  3. After having my car in the garage for a week, they've discovered my car needs a new engine wiring loom, there was a leak from the coolant which corroded the wires. Have been told this is very unusual, yet Audi are refusing to pay anything towards the cost (£1,306). Our local Audi garage is helping towards it thankfully but still expensive! Has anybody else had this problem with a wiring loom?

Thanks for that Trevor. It did take quite a bit of oil and the light is now out. There's no oil patches on the driveway so don't know where it's going. It was an audi garage it was done in, the one we bought it from. Maybe we should go to the garage and have it looked at. Unfortunately now just outside the warranty.

My Audi A3 was mot'd a couple of weeks ago, and had an advisory to top up the oil. Less than a week later the warning light came on saying I had minimum oil level. I had a TT for 8 years and never had an oil warning light come on. The car will be four years old in July, is this normal or should I be worried? I've owned the car for a year.

They're Audi alloys off a TT. It's not lowered.

We've tried that but it didn't work. The wheels are an inch wider than the ones we had.

Bought new alloys but the alloy is rubbing against the suspension. What do I need to do?

I have a 2013 A3 which is coming to the end of it's years warranty next month. Last month it needed a double clutch replacement (Auto gearbox) and now it's needing a replacement multi media unit. It's done just over 19000 miles (5000+) by us. A bit worried about what's going to go wrong with it next. Is this common things to go wrong or should I worry I've bought a Friday car?
