    Thanks Piotr , its an automatic. I have been told by two garages that its a torque converter but took it to a specialist the other day & they told me basically the same as you ( it does'nt have TC in a cvt box ). Suppose i should of went to a specialist in the first place 😞

    I have an 2008 A6 2.0 tdi with no problems till now. Startup sounds ok if the engine is Cold, but once it's been warmed up & switched off, the startup then sounds like a very loud rattling noise, I've spoke to a local garage & they said it could be torque converter ! I am no mechanic so i would appreciate any help or advice. Cheers
