Hi Gareth I have done a bit of research on this already. It costs £80 to take the plate of my car with the DVLA, which triggers a new reg number. I hadn't factored in the £30 to buy new reg plates. I was hoping to make a private sale of the plate to cover most of this plus a sensibly priced plate from Reg Transfers (or the like). Thanks for the advice in your post though. Made me think about doing this long and hard. Cheers Steve

Are there any rules on selling private plates on this forum. My recently purchased Audi A4 Avant came with a private plate that has no relevance to me. Just wondering if anyone out there would like to buy it, before I offer it to the Reg Transfer web sites. Reg number is S200FMB.

Haven't had my A4 long but my a4 s-line seems to work ok on hill starts. You should be able to leave the handbrake engaged and pull off without having to dis-engage. There may be a fault however - might need looking at.

Has anybody had trouble in the past with removing their ignition key. I have the key type in my Audi A4 Avant 2008 that is inserted into the dash. Starting the car is fine, but sometimes the key gets stuck when trying to remove it. I can usually remove it after a couple of tries at starting and stopping the engine, but it can be annoying. Any help greatly appreciated

Just bought a 2008 A4 Avant S Line.. All I can say is wow! He's like the clappers and a bit of luxury too. I managed to find a 2008 model with 60k on the clock and in excellent condition. Cant wait to do some long drives in this.
