  1. Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice on whether I need a mechanic or not. Driving through a torrential downpour yesterday with some flooding on the roads and all of a sudden my A6 had the 'Oil Level Sensor Defective' warning came on. Once I got home, I checked the oil and it's fine. This morning I checked to make sure no oil has leaked and it hasn't, so it appears to just be a sensor problem. Driving this morning, the light will go off for a minute or 2 and then come on again, sometimes it's 30 seconds between on and off. So this is suggesting more that something keeps shorting the sensor rather than it being faulty. I'm wondering what the chances are that due to water yesterday, is it likely that some water has got in somewhere and as I'm driving about the water is moving around and shorting the sensor? If likely, do I really need to go to a mechanic? Thanks in advance for any responses and advice. Matt
