  1. Hi guys, Thank you for letting me join here, i have very recently bought a 56 plate Audi A4 Avant, S line 2.0 tdi 170bhp, my first ever Audi. Well it is a lovely car but we have got of on the wrong foot these last few weeks with a few issues that hopefully you guys can help us out with, any input would be fantastic! So it all started when the Coil engine light came on and car went into limp mode it did it whether you were booting it or going gently but very intermittently it would often not happen for several days, i finally got a fault code on my OBD of: PO299 which pointed to turbo underboost regulation , my research suggested it could be 101 things, i took it to an Audi specialist and they diagnosed it as the Intake Manifold Swirl Flap (a little black round thing with a small pipe coming out of it, sits in front of the EGR) They proceeded to blank of the pipe and assured me this would not effect the car (except very slight mpg & emissions) I picked the car up and it drove mint for the weekend at least, on the way home last night the coil engine light started flashing again but it did not and still does not go into Limp mode this time, my OBD reader reads the code PO401 which is pointing at the EGR now. So really my question is does the Intake Flap that has now been blanked of in any way connected to the EGR and if so would blanking it off effect the EGR at all? Alice (the car) and me would appreciate any help Thanks alot Rob.
