Good evening Magnet Firstly many thanks for the reply and I have looked into a new unit which comes in at about £350 so not to bad I suppose for a critcal part. I have had the unit tested and it shows a B-terminal fault which if memory serves me is the connection on the alternator side. I am just as a precation going to change the belt as that in itself is looking glazed after which I will run her for a couple of days then take a decision from there

Morning all Just a quick one peeps does anyone know what alternator fits the 2001 (Y reg) 4.2 A6 Quatrro as I have a funny feeling mine might well be saying its last farewell lol

Morning Steve sadly no not at all :( I was hoping it would be something as simple as that lol

She isnt to bad needs to have the front bumper cover re-aligned and has a paint bubble forming on the roof but the rest is pretty much good

Hey Niedzial The road was smooth so I suspect that had nothing to do with it, what I do recall was speeding up a little hearing a click on the driver door side and poof all the interior lights came on. What I also noticed was the switch on the door for locking and unlocking the doors seemed to fail as well :(

Morning all Been a long while since I belonged to an Audi club but now I have the new (old) girl thought it only proper to join civilisation again

Morning all This morning while driving to work there was a click and all my interior lights came on and I do mean all lol ......any ideas as to what causes this all help appreciated :)
