  1. Hello, I need to buy a new (used) rear diff for my '04 1.8t BEX 190 I was given the diff code FUB by the garage and have found one with matching FUB Will any diff with FUB code be a match? I saw some comments regarding making sure that the gear ratios match but does the matching code ensure this? The used diff i am looking at came from a 2005 A6 3.2 FSI which is why i am cautious but do they just share some parts? Hope y'all can help Cheers, James
  2. Hi everyone! Looking for an Audi A4 B6 Avant Quattro with the 1.9 PD130 engine for sale. Ideally located in Scotland or north of England as I myself am located in north east Scotland. Been keeping an eye out on Gumtree, Ebay, Autotrader and various other online car sale websites for a while now and can't seem to find one up for sale. Lots of saloon quattro B6's but not an Avant which I'm after. If anyone's got one for sale or knows anybody that has got one for sale can you please let me know. My email address is marcin9005@gmail.com or just post it down below. Thanks a lot!
  3. Hi, complete newbie to the site and just hoping for some help with a strange issue. Firstly, after hours of searching I can’t seem to find anyone who has the same problem as I’m getting, so seems rare. My cars has just had a MeyleHD full suspension kit fitted, plus new coil overs. about 3 months after this my car failed mot on the front upper control arms, mainly the rear ones. They literally moved up and down a CM in the socket of the upright. So these were replaced for another pair of control arms, same thing happened 3 months later, passed mot when fitted but failed again inside 3 months. Loose in the ball joint socket. Note that the ball joints themselves have not failed, the arm itself is moving where the pinch bolt should have grabbed it. Has anyone had anything like this? Or any ideas on how to overcome without buying new uprights?... Any help would be greatly appreciated as everywhere I look I hit a dead end :/
  4. Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I found out about it because I bought an Audi A4 convertible last summer, and have recently been having some issues that I cannot figure out. I'm hesitant to bring it to a garage because 1) i think it will be expensive even to diagnose and 2) its COVID19 isolating times and 3) my friend is a mechanic and is willing to give it a try but he's not keen to do the research! So just a couple of weeks ago, my battery completely died, and I knew it was old, so my mechanic friend replaced it for me. He does not know how to reset the computer, if that is an issue. Everything seemed fine though, so whatever. The next day I took the car out for spin for first time in ages, and put the top down cuz it was a gorgeous day. When I returned home, the top would not close. The hydraulics lifted up the back cover, and then just went kaput, it would not continue the work. The back cover stayed up at 90 degrees. So I operated the top manually a few times, and after that it again started to work, but when it got to the point when the back cover had to lift on its hydraulics, it wouldn't go, just sat there, holding up the progression. Also the switch to operate the roof is a bit funny- it lets me start the process, then it dies. Then if I start it again, it goes for a bit, then dies.... I keep ending up with the roof halfway up. I'm sensing here is something wrong with the hydraulics motor, or a relay, or even a short somewhere? I'm so frustrated because I have hardly gotten to use the car with the top down since I bought it!! I would be grateful if anyone has any similar experiences and solutions to share. I am also desperately seeking the user manual for this articular model, it did not seem to come with the car when I bought it used last year. Thanx in advance!
  5. Hi I’ve been loosing coolant pretty rapidly the past few day’s I can’t see any leaks I’ve changed the expansion tank cap and no difference I’ve changed the oil and it wasn’t milky at all if I put my foot down to about 90 the temp will start to creep up any ideas? Head gasket maybe? I’ve had The garage test the head for leaks twice and there wasn’t any but it seems like I’ve got back pressure in the coolant system.
  6. Audi A4 - 260 BHP - 1.8T - B6 - 2002 I have for sale my beloved 260 BHP Audi A4 B6 1.8T. I have spent thousands on this car and it is a great powerful vehicle. See below on the overview and spec. Overview The car has been upgraded to a very fast 260BHP with a uprated K04-15 Turbo (hybrid), FMIC , Bosh 550 Injectors and de-cat down pipe. The car has been professionally remapped at Unicorn Motor Developments and the rolling road report is attached. Upgrades 260BHP with a uprated K04-15 Turbo (hybrid), Front Mounted InterCooler Bosh 550 Injectors De-cat straight through down pipe. Performance Air Filter Professionally remapped at Unicorn Motor Developments 19" Alloy Wheels Features Front Electric Windows Air Condition Audi Chorus Sound system with 6 CD Changer (one of the speakers are not working) 19" Alloy Wheels Multispoke wheels Condition I have just changed the water pump and the timing belt was also just done at the same time, so this is brand new. The body work is in fair condition for the age of the car. There are some minor dents and scratches of course for the age of the car. The bonnet has a medium dent which can easily be repaired at a dent repair place. The engine was fully rebuilt 26,913 miles ago as the orignal turbo failed hence i decided to fully rebuild with new uprated Turbo and compenents , so this engine only really has 26,913 many miles on it. The overall mileage of the car is 189,913. The thermostat needs to be replaced for the heating. Any inspection / Passenger Test Drive welcome. Only selling as i have bought another car now. This is a great 4 door powerhouse for a cheap price. You will probably not get 260BHP and a lot of fun for this money anywhere. £2795 or nearest offer - Call Now ! Audi A4 - 260 BHP - 1.8T - B6 - 2002

  8. Hi there, Just bought my first Audi and joined the site! I want to upgrade my existing stock 18" S4 wheels (2005, B6) with genuine Audi (if possible) 19" Le Mans wheels. Trouble is, I'm starting to suspect from my searches, that none of the stock Le Mans alloys fit the S4. If anyone has had similar problems and can give me advice, then that would be great. I don't mind going non-genuine Audi with the Le Mans style if that is the only option. Also, if anyone has insight in to what other genuine Audi 19", more modern style alloys, fit the B6 S4,.... then that would be great too. Many thanks, Matt
  9. The purge valve on my 2002 A4 1.6 (ALZ engine) has broken. I can't find a part number on the valve itself, just on the rubber holder which appears to have two part numbers: O6B 133 459 D and PXO 421 212-10. Are any of those for the purge valve? I have searched the websites of the local car parts stores, but I have been unable to find a purge valve for my car: Either they aren't in stock or they are listed as not compatible with my car despite that they look very much like the old one. What might make them incompatible? Are there any differences between purge valves besides the size of the hoses and type of electrical connector that connect to them? Are there any reputable web shops that have this part at a reasonable price? Are there any low quality manufacturer of these valves that are best avoided?

  11. Hi. Looking to buy a B6 1.8t Avant. Would prefer mileage under 200,000. Cheers. Tom.
  12. Good Afternoon, I'm new to the forum. I'm looking at a temporary run-around car at the weekend and would like some advice. Its a 2005 B6 Audi A4 3.0tdi S-Line Quattro, it has a full service history (not all main dealer), 200K miles, MOT till June 2018. Also, 18" RS6's, full 2 tone leather, dual climate control, rear park sensors, sat nav, on board computer, roof bars etc. £1,500.00 due to mileage. What is the major problems with these cars? should the oil pump have been replaced by now? what should i look out for in the service history? I've attached advert of the car in question, i'll likely do 7k mile maximum and be selling. I'll like bring a friends diagnostic computer with me and a mechanic if possible. Thanks Aaron Flanagan

  16. Hello,Im new to Audi's and this forum, but on Sunday traded the astra diesel 1.7 05 estate in for a Audi a4 avant 05 2.0 fsi quattro. Vey happy with the car, its silver 77k mileage £5k. The drive is so good, takes the bumps the best I have experienced, nice amount of power, never had 6th gear before. Handles the road like its on rails.Only downside to my purchase is rear window washer not working, heated seats not working, heater isn't warm for a while inside car. Some scuffs to the rear interior boot area. But taking car back to get all things looked at bar the scuffs. My first purchase is premium rubber floor mats from catmats4u, also wanted to ask ppl what oil does the engine take? Also wanted to ask about getting engine chipped and ppl's experience on that for the 2.0 turbo B7's. Does it effect mpg? Is there a choice of either more power or more mpg? What is your experience with the cost to insurance? Many thanks.
  17. Hello! Just joined up on the forum after reading several interesting threads. I have two Audi A4 (B6) Avant 1.9Tdi, one is 02 plate and the other is a 04 plate Quattro, I absolutely love these cars not only are they reliable and capable of everything that you throw at them they are comfortable and a pleasure to drive. I currently use the 02 plate for our work where we restore classic Mini's, its our 'works' tractor and pulls mini's on the trailer with ease. Its on an amazing 204300 miles at the moment and recently survived a side swipe on the motorway from a foreign lorry that hadn't seen me in his blind spot. Its now a CAT D but its back on the road still with the body damage but perfectly safe and legal. I bought the 04 plate with the insurance payout but so far it has only been used for family needs. Its in remarkable condition and it is now up to a good 177000 miles and running well. Having said that both have some issues which I am hoping to find out some information about on here :-)
  18. Hi guys, New to the Forum (and Audi owning). After a few VW Golf's I decided a change was needed, more so because we have a 6 month old son who is growing FAST. I picked up a Dark Blue, B6 Avant yesterday (pic attached) - 80,000 miles, some service history and the all important timing belt has been changed at 71,000 miles. It is the 2003 2.0 FSI model which I know is not the most desirable BUT I'm a practical guy, wanted something NON-turbo so that it's relatively simple. I'm not looking for speed/acceleration, more so economy and lower running costs and th ability to get involved my self. It'll be a WorkHorse more than anything. Exterior is great - no rust/scratches or dents, interior is grubby to say the least - was owned by a middle aged Electrician who must have used it as a work horse - it'll need a deep clean - lots of trim broken (arm rest/glove box/worn buttons etc). I can deal with that in time (Ebay). Asking price was £1,985 but got it for £1,500 on basis interior was messy. I feel it was a fair price. I wanted to know what you think i should look at engine-wise as most people would consider doing when they get an older second hand car for the first time? I'm thinking oil change, plugs, clean air filter and pollen filter? Should i stump up and do the coil packs as well as know that they can be problematic? MAF meter perhaps? Any other suggestions? On start up the car stutters a little and engine 'wobbles' around, but after a few revs/drive it warms up and calms down, idling well. All in all everything seems to work fine still, E/mirrors, E/Windows, Cruise Control etc. Got 41MPG crusing back to London on the M40 last night (albeit at 60-65 mph). Was expecting more like mid-30's, so pleased on the whole. Tracking out marginally, but i'll get that sorted. I'm used to a MK7 Golf company car and the brakes are sharp and responsive - this Audi feels like you have to stand on the brakes to get it to stop - is this because it's 13 years old and the car is heavier or could the pads need changing (tricky to say without seeing, I know)? No brake light on the dash. Sorry if this topic has been raised a trillion times, just getting to grips with navigating around the site. thank you in advance. E
  19. Hello All, I'm actively in the market for an Audi A4 cabriolet having recently sold my fiesta ST. Could an audi enthusiast please describe the differences between a B6 and B7? I'm looking to purchase an A4 cab with the 'meaner' front end (2 separate lower wings/ splitters) I have searched the forum but cannot find any simple information.. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Chris
  20. Wondering if anyone can help. I have a 2003 A4 1.9 TDI SPORT QUATTRO (GMBH) and the instrument cluster is not working. I am looking to see if anyone has come across this fault where only the temp and fuel gauge work. The part no is 8E0 820 981. If anyone has come across this problem or can help please let me know. Thanks SBLNG
