  1. Thanks Gareth I was away and never had time to respond to him properly one of the listings was for a new one and I managed to get the part numbers from a dealership which I cross matched with the one Kev had listed and all the numbers are the same apart from the last two letters. So I chanced my arm and contacted the dealership again and got the same person and explained to him about the difference. And I was pleasantly surprised when he said he would put an enquiry into VAG for me to see what other ones fitted but it can take a while for them to get back to them. So I took a liter of vodka into dealership for the parts man as a thank you. So I will let you know how I get on. I thought about altering a subframe to fit but any welding to subframe is a mot failure.
  2. Starter motors take 200-300 amps so you have been reducing battery capacity each time you started the engine. You should have left the car unused and just run a trickle charge once or twice per month.
  3. Hi Stevey, Yes it is where the engine connects with the gearbox. I have a 6 months gold warranty with warrantywise so hoping they will cover this work if it is the crank seal. If anything i will get a full report after the check from audi to confirm where the cause is. Then make a decision after speaking to warranty bods. Also do you have any contacts that have done this sort of work at a reasonable price incase i end up getting fobbed off?
