  1. Max. If you are expecting a solenoid valve on the coolant system you will be disappointed. Cabin temperature adjustment by control of coolant flow was abandoned years ago. Maybe you already know that, but I mention it just in case. Temperature regulation will be by mixing hot and cold air by means of flap valves in the air ducts. I don't know if the flaps on your car are entirely mechanical or electrically powered. Note that electric flaps are known to be prone to failure. There is also the possibility of a partial blockage of the heater matrix which can be caused by scale or by crystals of silica gel that have escaped from a bag in the coolant reservoir. (Bags of silica gel in the reservoir were installed for a few years by Audi.) I am inclined to think the latter because such crystals also prevented the thermostat from closing, which may explain why yours was missing. There are videos on Youtube explaining the silica gel problem and how to change the heater matrix if necessary.

2017 A5/S5 After carrying a passenger today who said they could hear water sloshing around I checked the doors but these were all dry. After looking online I then checked the sills and both sides had a substantial amount of water in! I’d guess more than 5 pints. So I’m now leaving both rear plugs out. I found plugs at front and back of the sills close to the wheels. May be worth checking for others too!
  3. Hi Gareth, Thanks very much for the advise, help & support it is really appriciated
  4. Update: A10VKV registration number now on V778 retention document ready for transfer and listed on Ebay for £325 - fee already paid. Open to offers.
  5. I only did this on a BMW E36 and in the end had to cut the old switch off with some side cutters until I was able to remove the entire switch.
  6. Hi Martin, Very smart car, look after it👍
  7. Thanks Gareth. Advice much appreciated. Its the messing around that concerns me though.
  8. Good day Paul. Given that you don't want to dismantle the car yourself, the only alternative I know of are car breakers who will offer only a notional scrap value. The price offered for the car may seem derisory when compared to the value of the individual parts of it they will undoubtedly sell, but you have to bear in mind the cost of transporting, dismantling, and storing the car.

Thanks yes, saw that thread. It seems a common issue with the C7, they like to let water in as much as possible. Further investigation this evening and I narrowed down the leak. See the picture attached, but the leak is coming through a seam in the side wall. Circled the area in red. I have sealed this area with Gorilla waterproof patch & seal tape. I removed the Voltage stabiliser unit to dry it out, and also moved the wiring loom for the Voltage Stabiliser unit up and back out of the spare wheel well up into the area where the main fuse board unit is. I hope that these two actions will cure the problem.
