  1. I believe it is. Perhaps that's where the problem lies. Thanks
  2. Thanks Gareth, the last twice I have used Shell V-power fuel as alternative and have had the smell both times when I start up the car. Might be a coincidence. The smell is very strong especially at the passenger side but soon dissipates when driving. Hopefully the garage will solve the problem. Regards
  3. Anybody have any idea why I am getting a strong smell of petrol inside my 2006 Audi A4 convertible. No warnings lights on dashboard or any sign of leak. The smell clears after running the car for a couple of miles. I have it booked in next week at the garage for a check up.
  4. Thanks Paul, will give this a try.
  5. Thanks Steve, pardon my ignorance but does that involve a trip to my Audi dealer?
  6. The spare key that came with my A4 Cabrio has never worked. I replaced the battery and the light comes on when I press it but it doesn't unlock the car, any suggestions?
  7. The problem according to the garage apparently is that when I put it into reverse the sensor is not recognising it and therefor the reversing light is not coming on and the reversing sensor is not being activated either. Gear box has to come out and the unit has to be sent away. A few hundred pounds of a bill anticipated.
  8. Thank you for your reply, it looks like a reversing light switch problem. Booked the car in to the garage tomorrow to get it properly checked out. Regards Trevor
  9. New here so bear with me. I have just discovered that my reversing lights and rear sensors are not working. Any idea what's happened before I incur garage bills?
