  1. I’m new to using forums, so apologies if this is the wrong place to be. I’m selling pretty much pristine genuine Audi wheels with winter tyres (Dunlop Winter Sport 3D, 225/50/17/94H). They’ve hardly been used as the car they were from spent so much time at the main dealers, I didn’t need to fit them. I had a 2015 A4 Avant, but I’m sure they’ll fit other cars. If anyone is interested, please let me know.
  2. I've just replaced my A4 Avant (2015, SE Technik Ultra) with an A6 Avant Sport, mainly for the added space for kids' clobber. It seemed fine on the short test drive, but I've now discovered that the driver's seat is incredibly uncomfortable after a few miles. Despite multiple adjustments of height, back rest tilt, lumbar support etc, I cannot find a position that feels as if I'm really sitting in the car; it feels as if the seat is pushing me forwards from the middle to the top of my back. I've done less than 1000 miles, and I'm at the point where I really don't want to have to drive it. I took it back to the main dealer last week, to check the seat was OK - of course it's fine. Any thoughts about what to do re. this problem would be very welcome, as I tend to hang onto my cars for 5-6 years when I can, and I don't like the thought of 5-6 years of back pain.
  3. Hi Steve, thanks for your reply. I’m pretty sure they took the gearbox out this time, to investigate the judder. The clutch has been replaced now, and I’m collecting the car later today. Gear changes are reasonably smooth, although it can be a bit stiff early on, and overall probably not as smooth as my previous cars (a series of Golfs).
  4. I bought an A4 Avant (B8, 65 plate) from a main dealer in June 2016. It had 10,000 miles on the clock. It started juddering at about 12000 miles, and ended up needing a new DMF and clutch - all done under warranty. The juddering started again a few weeks ago, so I took it back to my local main dealer. They couldn't find a problem on a (very short) test drive, but eventually agreed to take the gearbox out. I've been told that the clutch has burned out, and has to be replaced, but not under warranty this time. The manufacturer's warranty runs to September this year. I know they class a clutch as a wear and tear part, but I've not had a clutch problem in 24 years of driving, and this car has needed 2 clutches in 34000 miles. I'm suspicious that there's an underlying mechanical problem they either don't want to tell me about, or don't want to look for. Any suggestions on where to go from here, and how worried to be about the car? Thanks.
