  1. Thanks Steve, ive had A4,s and a coupe before but loving the sporty grandad car : ).
  2. Are there any upgrades worth doing?, looking for a higher and even more comfortable ride if possible?
  3. So after hours scouring the internet i found this bad boy...only did small part to test, just two applications with a soft cloth with firmish rubbing and hey presto. Just gotta find 3 spare hours to do the rest : )
  4. Thanks guys, looks like Autoglym going to be getting my loyalty then. Have found a great product to deal with the milky ally as well, lance cleaners where not interested in rectifying there over use of chemicals and insufficient rinsing and drying as I couldn't prove that it wasn't like that before I visited them. Never again!!
  5. Hi all Ive read through the posts re cleaning routines, and Autoglym products seem popular but they seem to be for newer models, is this product still ok for an 03 , or are there more suitable products for older metallic paintwork ?. Had a bad experience this week with a cheap Eastern euro carwash sending all my silver ally milky so bought some Mothers Mag & Aluminium polish which has managed to get the vast majority of it off : ), but how do i protect the roof rails and window trims from further dulling? I checked out Dr Colourchip as recommended on here but cant find Atlas Grey in their options are there any other recommended products for chip repair? Also headlight kits, any recommendations or will toothpaste do the job? Sorry about all the newbie questions , but so want to keep my new found love shining : ) Thanks in advance
  6. All your input is greatly appreciated Gareth , the bubbling you see underneath the rust is actually the rain i have not wiped away properly : ) Will take a dry pic in the morning for you, which will show more clearly, Ive received a quote this evening to remove the rust , treat with rust killer , repair prime and paint the rear arch and the rear door for colour would at £ 350.00 Which sounds far more reasonable.
  7. Hi Gareth thanks for the reply. Yeah the "go away " quote crossed my mind too. The quote is from a local body shop, who told me they would have to remove quarter panel to carry out repair...is this correct? Def looks like untreated scrape to me from close ups..what you think?.
  8. Ive been quoted 650 +vat to prepare and respray a little bit of surface rust on top of rear wheel arch , looks like and old scuff thats been left too long. They have quoted for removal of quarter panel and a door blend. Surely thats way too much, or am i just out of touch? Any advice much appreciated
  9. Evening M Thanks for the info, will give them a look up. Im in Roydon and have not found any Audi guys in Harlow at all, except Clover Autos in North weald
  10. Evening Steve Thanks for the welcome, yes its a Sport..6 speed manual : )...132,000 of well kept miles, so many more miles of quality motoring left in her yet : )
  11. Just purchased my first A6 1.9TDI Sport, immaculate inside and out. Been shown lots of love over the years and want to keep it that way. Would like it to be maintained by a local independent who cares. Any recommendations please?
