  1. Hi Simon, far from expert commentary from me, similar to you I have never had such variation in a 'normal' running car. Maybe this thread from the TT Forum is of use ? https://www.ttforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=243227
  2. Blogged about the same :- Eventually a GOOD outcome fortunately https://alanbeard.blogspot.com/2019/06/stupidity-yes-totally-guilty.html?fbclid=IwAR0oVfhzPqInyHIaAfR5G8D9oPVMsEdhk8owcST8UzgYPr3dX1H7BhVnGzw
  3. A neighbour remarked to me on Sunday that my drivers window was open, I went out and closed the window that was maybe open by 3cm and thought no more about it (but on reflection we had 3 days of very heavy rain on previous days) Roll on to Monday, I decided to go out in the convertible, started the engine but the roof seemed sluggish however eventually raised, the roof warning light remained on, panic set in when I tried to close the roof - at first it refused to oblige, but eventually it did indeed close. At this point I noticed a whole array of lights were still remaining lit up eg EPC, ABS,.....and the rev counter + speedo just simply not working whatsoever. So ...... it looks like I have blown fuses and relays. The plan is to drive it very slowly to an auto electrician, but that is 10 miles away and my reasoning for delaying taking it there is that I need some reasonably dry weather in case further electrical damage has occurred since its initial soaking + driving in damp/wet weather will exacerbate. Any advice welcome ....
  4. I have a 2010 Tfsi with the same roof , 31 mph is always the quoted speed I believe. The fastest speed ever operated on my own was ~ 15 mph and seemed very stable to do so, but personally would not ever try to do the same operation at anywhere approaching 30mph
  5. Hi Without wishing to bore the pants off folks, I dabbled into Audi TT ownership in January purchasing a 1.8 TT Convertible with 32k miles, rapidly upgraded to a Mk3 2016 1.8 TT Convertible with ~ 16 k miles, upgraded yet again to a 2017 TTs , but realised after a period of time the front wheel drive versions suited me far better (vastly less weight). So .....once again Upgraded to a 2010 25k 1.8Tfsi Convertible AND a 2015 2.0 TFsi Coupe , for roughly the same price as my ex-TTs . Whether this represents a unique experience (or simply wasting my money) is unimportant, car dealers love to see my face appearing through their doors. I was never previously an advocate of VAG products, until I purchased a relatively cheap Skoda Octavia Scout 1.8 Tfsi and had the 160 bhp engine remapped to 210 bhp - totally transforming the car . Similarly, both of my recently purchased TT have been remapped. Anyways, good to be here, and will read through all of the back-threads that interest me. Alan
