  1. Hi all, Potentially looking into a Q2 soon, ideally 2019 onwards so probably a 1.05 TFSI. Just after some advice and guidance on what to look for on these? Thing like: Whats good, bad, ugly? Cambelt / chain, and intervals. Service internals. Common problems to look for? What maintenance is a must and at what miles? Thanks.
  2. This thread can be closed as the Skoda set is no longer available. Audi wheels advertised here.
  3. Taken in part ex, swapped them with my old Skoda set. 18" Alloy wheels an Audi A3, I believe the 8V edition. Will fit across the VAG group, so VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda. 5x112 stud pattern. Part code: 8V0 071 498-4EE 8V0 071 498 A-LT7 These have some minor marks on two of them, they're diamond cut so as usual some slight corrosion have developed as well as some minor kerb rash. Four good tyres, each has around 5-6mm tread. Part worn tyres alone are worth £35 each. Wheels will need balancing as one of the weights dropped off one wheel when I put these into the shed and I can't remember which one off, so better to balance them all. No cracks, cannot see any bends, all holding air. They need a wash and clean, but due to weather haven't managed to do so yet. Price: £250 ono (if it helps you, would consider part ex with your old wheels)
  4. Hi, these are sold, well I've part exchanged them with the below which are for sale, they are off an A3, 18", Genuine Audi, good tyres all round. Let me know if interested and I can discuss further. VID_20260104_122923.mp4
  5. I dont have that option on mine.
  6. Really poor design on the Audi, you can't even access the circuit board without removing the headlight. Deffo will try a DIY fix first before looking down the replacement route. Would the circuit board be interchangeable or are they coded to the car?
  7. Assuming that if your car has DRL, then they SHOULD be working for MOT? What about those cars that don't have DRL's? Assume therefore if not fitted from factory they are not requried for MOT?
  8. Assume these tool's aint too expensive? Are they like the Carly dongle?
  9. Thanks for the replies. Looks like replacing is the best option. I too have done some investigation after posting this thread and I might try this DIY fix first, as I checked the price of a second hand headlight unit and I had to quickly sit back down. Agree that disabling probably isn't suitable, I don't have the VCDS or OBD11 and then I would have to reactivate again at MOT time and it still wouldn't be working.
  10. 18" Alloy wheels off a Skoda Octavia Mk3. Will fit across the VAG group, so VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda. 5x112 stud pattern. These have some minor marks on two of them, have a little kerbing. One also has some minor damage around one of the bolt holes. Looks like a lock nut got stuck and someone bashed it off and made a little mess around the bolt hole. Tyres each have around 5-6mm tread. Two are Bridgestone, one is Continental, one is iLink. 225/40/18 in size. Standard factory silver in colour. Part code: 5E0 601 025AC. Lovely looking wheels, need minor TLC. I bought to use as a winter set on my own car, but bought another set with winter tyres already fitted. £195 ono - Part ex welcome with your old wheels.
  11. Audi A3 18" Inch Alloy Wheels with very good tyres. Off an A3, 8V Sport, 2016 model. After doing a little Googling it comes up as a "Velum" model wheel. Taken in part ex. Not used myself. Surplus to requirements. Wheels have some kerbing on them and as they are originally diamond cut they are a little pitted. I've not had time to wash them and it's too cold at the moment so they are still really mucky with dust and brake dust. Can be used as is but would benefit from some TLC or a refurb. Four good tyres, each has around 5-6mm tread. Part worn tyres alone are worth £35 each. Wheels will need balancing as one of the weights dropped off one wheel when I took these out the shed and I can't remember which one off, so better to balance them all. 5x112 stud pattern. Will fit across the VAG group, so VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda. Please check your own fitment before offering or committing to buy Part code: 8V0071498. Viewing welcome. No cracks, cannot see any bends, all holding air. £250 ono - Part ex welcome with your old wheels.
  12. Hi guys, One of the DRL's on the A3 has gone really dim and yellow'y. Is there a way to disable the DRL's? Also, whats my options regarding a fix, is it new headlight time? Can is an A3, 2017, 8V facelift. Please help. Thanks.
  13. Been wanting to have this done for ages, kept putting it off and all of a sudden I am year into the ownership so bit the bullet and booked it in. Rear windows tinted to factory spec. It looked too bland before and now just adds a nice look to it. Found a great local place so had it done this morning. As usual, some before and afters. I've also dropped the details of who I used, I'd recommend, he has had some top motors in that place, his reviews are top class as well and that was important before I booked it in. If anyone is interested in using, it's a place called Shades Customs Window Tinting, in Great Barr, Birmingham. Looks different and darker from different angles but I'm chuffed with it.
  14. I had the service done today. All seems well thus far. Great service, seem like a knowledgeable bunch of people. Plently of customers, many cars and they have great reviews. Fraction of the price of main dealer. £145.00 all in for an interim service. Digital records updated, service lights reset.
  15. Thank you, I'll look into them. Someone has also recommended: Midland VW Norton Canes
  16. Hi, can anyone recommend an Independant Servicing Specialist in the West Midlands? Thanks.
  17. I don't know where I have put the print out. I think I might have binned it by accident. I need to get to the dealers again and get another printout.
  18. Offers welcome on these. Need them gone to buy something else. 😁
  19. I need to know what too, but the print out is vague
  20. Sorry I didnt realise you asked, I though you meant how much current mileage we do. Sitting on 51k currently. Also, I'd welcome recommendations for a local independent in Birmingham and surrounding area.
  21. Current mileage and mileages at which it’s been serviced during its 8 years? Annually by the looks of it Who will you be entrusting the servicing to? Looking for a local reputable independant in West Midlands rather than main dealer. Maybe due a brake fluid change if this coincides with the car’s anniversary of first registration? I have the service history print out, but doesnt detail actual specifics of whats been done.
  22. I'll probably be looking for an Independent rather than main dealer.
