My garage charged me 2 hrs and said it looked an awkward job but turned out to not be that bad, you could diy The switch is on the master cylinder and is not available as a seperate item even though it is removable from the assembly. Could be the handbrake module,Get someone local to plug VCDS in and check any codes, car won't start unless pressing clutch is normal.

Just to answer myself, replaced the clutch master cylinder, car now starts ok, handbrake releases ok, gearchange recommendation has returned and strangely the radiator fan which was starting when the engine was switched off is also now normal, strange.

My radiator fans have started coming on when I turn the engine off after 5 secs, if I restart the engine they go off immediately, everything is normal, temp where it always was and interior heating ok coolant level correct vcds shows no codes.

My B8 has just started not releasing the handbrake when pulling away and also I have to depress the clutch pedal twice to start, I bought a copy of elsawin and I see the clutch sensor has a connection to the handbrake module, does anyone have any experience of this, I suppose the fault could be in either. VCDS does not show any faults.

Just recently started on my 2010 b8, 2.0 tdi manual transm,ission gear suggestion stopped, it is turned on. auto handbrake release stopped,handbrake works fine manually,not hill start assist, car doesn't have this. left reverse lamp stopped, not the bulb, engine fans come on when engine switched off, even when cold.but don't run when engine is running oil level sensor fault Difficult to tell but apart from oil sensor issue all seemed to start at the same time Any ideas anyone VCDS only shows bulb and oil sensor problems

My b8 estate started showing left hand reverse light failure, it's not the bulb, I presume there is a body control module or similar that the bulbs are connected to, any idea where it is? Also, don't know if it's connected, the gear recommendation display has stopped working (it is turned on) and the automatic handbrake release has also stopped! both stopped at the same time as far as I can tell.

My b8 has just decide to not show recieved/sent calls etc, shows directory and can make receive calls ok, constantly shows a symbol like a revolving radar alongside the BT network sign. Seems to coincide with apple update,but that might not be the case. Any ideas anyone? I have rebooted and unregistered and re-registered phone to no avail.
