I had a wobble that i suspected was the wheels so had all the tyres replaced and balanced. This didnt solve the issue so i brought it to a mechanic. When the car was lifted we could see that there is a lot of play in the shaft that comes out of the gearbox towards the front of car. The car wobbles and vibrates but the gear changes are smooth and it doesnt show any error codes. How big a job is this too fix?

I bought a 2.0tdi Multitronic about 3 months ago which was going fine. Now the car wobbles when accelerating. It gets a lot worse if turning to the right, particularly uphill where it feels like the front wheels are ovals. Ive brought the car to 2 separate mechanics to check all the suspension parts and wheels and both say they are fine with no play in anything. Wobbles on acceleration Smooth when not on accelerating gets a lot worse when turning to right steering is slightly off i think and slowly drifts to the left Has been inspected twice and no signs of play or buckles/wear on tires/wheels Does anyone have any ideas?
