  1. Hello folks, Can anyone tell me if, when a timing/cam belt is changed, it can alter the sound of the engine? I have recently upgraded to a 2 litre 170hp and before picking up the timing/cam belt was changed. The engine sounds different to on the test drive. When in low gears and accelerating there is a reverberation noise. Could this be linked to the timing/cam belt change? Thanks and regards, Bev
  2. Hi all, I wonder if any of you have had a similar experience, my A3, 09 Reg has 74 tho miles on the clock and has developed a whirring noise that seems to be coming from the front engine compartment. As I go faster the whir gets louder and seems faster, like something is spinning! Will this be the timing belt? My acceleration isn't affected but the noise is REALLY off putting, ha. Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance Bev
