  1. Hello, I have just recently bought an A5 Coupe. Its a: 2009 Petrol Manual 2.0L TFSI 132Kw 94,000 Miles At first the "Engine exhaust gas management" light appeared (not blinking, solid amber) shortly after that "EPC" light lit up as well. The car went into limp mode, and I had to drive slow. Pulling over and restarting the engine, helped removing the epc light and the "limp mode", which allowed me to drive back home driving "normally". Quickly popped into tool station to buy an OBDII to check the codes, as audi and kwikfit were charging a bit too much. Checked the car with the OBD, " Engine Cylinder 1 Misfire". (P0301) I have looked at youtube and forums about these misfires and they all point to the probability being Coils or Sparks or both, in most cases. Sitting idle at traffic lights or just idle in general, I would notice that the "Engine exhaust gas management" light would start to blink but then would be solid as soon as I was driving. I called up a local mechanic, who considered the issue may be the ignition coil, told me to save money and swap Cylinder 1 coil with Cylinder 4, run the OBD and see if the problem has jumped to Cylinder 4. I did just that, and after starting the car, the "Engine exhaust gas management" light did not come on, nor did the EPC light. And the OBD could not find any fault codes. I also noticed the cars juddering significantly reduced after swapping the coils around, I found this all rather strange. After driving it around the block, I noticed that the car was performing better. I decided to park it up and head inside and give the car a little break. After about an hour, went back to the car, started it up and that is when the "Engine exhaust gas management" came back on, I pulled the OBD out again to check the fault codes, and BOOM, once again, "Engine Cylinder 1 Misfire". My concern is that, the car did not respond straight away with an issue after swapping the coil, neither did the OBD pick anything up. Now the problem is back. And I am unsure whether the issue lies with the Coils or Sparks, I am replacing them all anyway. And hope that will reduce the engines juddering completely, as it is becoming a big concern especially after 1 week of ownership. Would really appreciate any help from all the enthusiasts on this Forum, would also appreciate if anyone knows any good audi mechanic/specialist around the London area, and if you can point me in their direction. Thank you for your time. Raphael. 🙂
  2. Steve, you are an absolute legend. Thanks a million for your solid advice, already going to see one now. Cheers! Raphael.
  3. Thank you Steve. Because of my budget the only A4's that I can afford (also London prices seem to be higher) are, 2008,2009. Not looking to get earlier models. Has to be Petrol as I live in central London, and of course ULEZ is an issue here. I much prefer a Manual over automatic. And up to 100k miles. I have found a few, but have missed them by an hour, or because the seller has not taken down the listing for the vehicle. So because of that I already feel I am looking at the right cars 😂😂. Audi A4 TFSI 1.8 2008/9 Petrol Manual <100k miles Really appreciate the guidance, thank you Steve. Raphael.
  4. Hi all, Need to buy a new car, shortened my search all the way down to an A4. Have been asking Audi owners what they think etc, and some family members who are petrol heads. I just want to know what I should be looking out for when buying an A4, my price range is round £5k, manual, petrol and under 100kmiles. Have found some interesting results online and missed a couple good ones. Preferably 3 owners or less. Would really appreciate all the advice I can get. Thanks a bunch! Raphael.
