  1. Hi All Although not specifically 'Audi' (there must be many other Audi owners affected) I lost my beloved Audi A4 Avant in the Luton Airport Car Park 2 Fire in October 2023. I must say that the insurance company acted very quickly and efficiently and I had a reasonable payout within 2 weeks. But of course the car was worth far more to me than the book value - I owned the car for 10 years (250k miles) and never had any problems with reliability. And it always costs to purchase another vehicle - travelling, viewing, time out of work etc. But the biggest loss was the value of the contents in the car. Things like a dashcam, a quite expensive all weather coat, boots, tools - even things like air pump, tyre pressure gauge, about 50 CD's, it all adds up. I estimate that there was over £1000 worth of personal effects in there. So the question is - does anyone know if there is a class action being launched by any large legal firm in respect of personal belongings, trauma, inconvenience etc? I had a quick scan on google but nothing popped up. Now the proud owner of another Audi A4 Avant 2.0TDi but a couple of years newer - gone automatic now... I look forward to hearing any good news...
  2. Hi all I posted several years back about this parking brake problem I was having and never got to the bottom of it...although it still happens from time to time. But I was talking to a mechanic recently and he mentioned that it might be an intermittent pressure (or vacuum) switch in the braking system but didn't elaborate... Anyone know which switch this might be to cause this problem - and whether it is DIY or AUDI service? Regards
  3. Hi I have an Audi A4 Avant 2010 - had my (original) clutch changed at 220,000 miles and presumably they disconnected the battery. Now there is no ringtone on the phone menu (Select Ringtine is greyed out) - the radio just goes quiet. I can set the volume of the ringtone from the setup menu and can hear it at this point but as soon as the phone rings there is just silence. Any ideas anyone...? Regards Andy
  4. Hi Does anyone know if there is a 5 or 12 volt feed in the rear view mirror on A4 Avant? I am installing a dashcam and thought it would be easier pick off power from there rather than route a cable all the way to the cigar lighter. I am electronics trained so a circuit diagram would be good too.... TIA Andy
  5. Hi All Hope this is in the right forum.... I'm looking to update my Maps data for my AUDI A4 B8 2010 2.0 Avant - Software Version is BNav_EU_P0022_D1 - Nav. Database 4G0919884F_ECE 5.10.5 Can anyone give me a definitive answer as what MMI I have (2g/3g) and what I need to obtain in order to update, where I might get it and, ideally, instructions..... My AUDI dealer (who I will never go back to after the EA189 update debacle) was quoting £500 or so - would be cheaper to buy a standalone Satnav... I've attached pics of the MMI/display Thanks in advance.....any more info needed just ask... Regards AndyK
  6. Hi All I wonder if someone here can tell me what version of MMI I have got from the attached pic and where I can get upgrades for the Sat Nav and/or MMI Thank you all

  8. Hi All, Does anyone have access to a later version than mine of the map data/mmi for my 2010 A4 2.0 TDi Avant- mine is currently BNav_EU_P0022_D1 and 4G0919884F_ECE 5.10.5 The map data is woefully out of date and I can't justify the cost of AUDI updates - I could just use my phone but its nice to have it all integrated... If anyone has a later version they are prepared to copy I can send an SD card/CD to them along with a little something..... Regards Andy
  9. Hi James No error codes or warnings....only the occasional 'bump' when I've rolled into something....! I don't think it is the switch as the light comes on and brake starts to energise every single time... Possibly the motor but its strange that it will only happen once until the ignition is cycled off/on. I am an electronic engineer and although I am not familiar with Audi specifics I've come across so many software bugs that software is definitely a 'person of interest' Regards...
  10. Hi Thanks for reply.... Yes I agree - I think it is electronic - or software if there is any software control on that part of the braking system. The brake works fine when it does engage - almost too well as there is no proportional control unlike a conventional handbrake - either off or on!
  11. Hi All Does anyone know of a problem with the electronic handbrake system? I have Audi A4 Avant 2 litre Diesel 2010 plate - when operating the electronic handbrake it doesn't always engage - I lift the switch, it starts to, the red light comes on, you can feel the change on the footbrake - and then it turns itself off and the light goes out. It doesn't happen every time and it only seems to happen once until the ignition is cycled off/on so you cannot reliably make it happen. I've had the vehicle for about 2.5 years and its only the last year that its been happening. So many times I opened the door and the car is merrily rolling along and I've gently bumped a couple of cars too because of this. I now try to check and put the car in gear when the key is out but don't always remember - its really got to the point where I think it may be a safety issue. Any clues/knowledge of this would be most welcome. Does AUDI monitor this site? I know there some technical employees that monitor and post - maybe you guys have heard about this........Thank you.....
  12. Hi All I would like to add DAB to my A4 - a unit that integrates with the MMI - and there seem to be a few options. Anyone got any comments/complaints/info etc? Regards Andy
  13. Hi All This is my first post so hope its in the right place....... Both I and a friend have the same problem - I with A4 and HTC(Android) phone and he with A5 and Samsung(Android) phone - we both have the MMI interface - when the first phone call is received the call connects but sender and receiver cannot hear each other - the radio comes back on (if it was on before the call) but the call remains connected so I have to 'End call' manually. I have resorted to calling my voicemail every time I get in the car as this seems to resolve the problem but it is rather a PITA. Any ideas anyone...... Regards Andy
