I recommend doing this as well, though can take a couple of days to get a reply (off his assistant). I was lucky enough to get the sensor swapped before any real damage, but they won't do anything once you've got the problem fixed.

I've sent separate emails to both those, and even dropped Top Gear a message to see if they'd run a story on it. I'm not holding my breath there, but no harm in asking.

Cheers mate. Unfortunately the dealer’s said that without being able to see or prove the fault themselves, they can’t replace the sensor. To be fair I drove it home earlier and it felt flawless. The dealer says that if they did replace the sensor without reason, and the ABS went anyway, they risk their warranty insurer claiming they misdiagnosed it, and wouldn’t pay out. I didn’t buy it new though (2017 model) and it’s still under warranty for over a year, so if the ABS does go they’ve assured me it’ll be covered under that. Sounds pretty daft to me, but I guess it’s a waiting game 🥴

Mine's currently in the shop now but they're having issues reproducing the warning / symptoms. Apparently it's running fine and no fault codes, either current or historic. I saw the message pop up on the screen behind the steering wheel when I first felt the problem though, which is what led me to this thread. I'm guessing the warning isn't registering like a normal engine fault? They're going to try again tomorrow, but if they can't reproduce it and I end up picking it up, assuming it's all running fine, am I in danger of destroying the ABS unit? Or is that only a risk when the warning's consistently popping up? Cheers

I’ve just started getting these warnings today. Luckily I was leaving home as it happened, so it’s back on the drive after a short trip round the block. Others have mentioned that the breaks felt sticky or unusual, but kept driving for miles afterwards. For me it was a very noticeable grinding sort of sound when I applied the brakes, that at least didn’t feel particular safe to drive. I’m hoping that’s normal, and I’ve not just gone straight to ABS annihilation? I’m going to start making some calls tomorrow to try and get a replacement sensor. Glad I saw this thread! Cheers!
