Hi all 

Well had my Audi A3 edition 1  1.5 dsg for two and a half months now and I’m well chuffed, fuel is getting better and better each week, about 36 - 38 mpg around town, only 1300 miles on the clock at the moment, so expecting it to get a little better, but with the cold winter days & nights coming maybe won’t show in extra miles per gallon. Oil use about 1 line on the dip stick so vey little.  

The matrix headlights with auto high beam Very Impressive day light all round but with out blinding on coming vehicles. 
Glad I went for the advanced key option very convenient, except when I’m  cleaning the car with the key in my pocket and grabbing the door handles to lean down or pull myself up ( getting old ) the doors keep locking and unlocking with the door mirrors folding in and out, just leave the keys in the garage.

More comfortable than expected, I had a vw scirocco 2.0 tdi R line 2016 model  in the past and had to have my fillings redone very six months, very hard suspension. but this one is very comfortable.

I've not gone for the dealer paint protect thing, it’s a bit expensive for what it is, I think,

Taking the wheels off tomorrow and applying  ( Gyeon Q2 rim ) did this on my previous vehicle and is so much easier to clean them even two years later, just snow foam them then jet wash to a spotless finish.

Do love it though, but takes some getting used to that flat bottomed steering wheel. Never had one!

I was given build week 26,  June 28th but when I looked at the car photos I took Saturday I could see it was built 2nd of July, Oh  dear that’s a Friday 😳  then took until Friday 20th of August to arrive at sheerness docks, turned up at dealers Tuesday 24th  

Oh ok, maybe my dealer doesn’t know that or didn’t communicate to me for some reasons.

Collection is Saturday the 4th at 5pm bit late I thought, but never mind at least I am picking it up.  
The key thing was said like,   you’re very lucky the cars coming through are only coming with one key now, I seem to be very lucky according to my salesman, I would talk to your dealer saying you expect two keys, maybe they will pick up the bill for it, 

At one point the Audi configurator made a big thing about each key being customisable to each driver, bit difficult with only one key.

 Went to look at the car today Saturday 28/8/21, was wrapped up in plastic inside and out but looked very nice, was told by the dealer again I was very lucky as very little now is getting through due to the part crisis, plus delivered with the car was two remote keys, normal,  but from now on only one key per car will be supplied, you now have to pay extra for any more, plus if you order a car today delivery would be estimated for April 2022.

Phoned by dealer today 24/8/21 saying your car has arrived at the  dealership today, that’s quick i thought it was only delivered to the docks on Friday morning, so delivered to Audi pdi dept sheerness pdi carried out and delivered to dealer all between Friday - Tuesday morning, blimey,  have been asked if I would like to go and look it over, ( think they want me to pay for it really 😳  

In the conversation he said you are very lucky, at one point I thought I was going to have to phone you and say delivery would be in January 2022 at best, due to the situation, but did not elaborate on that comment, but I know what he means.

I was phoned 19/8/21 by the dealer, and was told it was on the boat that was docking tomorrow, 

seems to have been on quite a cruise, loaded Germany 12/8/21 went to Teeside arrived 16/8/21 then sheerness 20/8/21   

so I ordered it Sunday 9/5/21 was given a date of delivery end of September, told this afternoon 20/8/21 the car has been received by Audi at the docks, now in for checking taking about 5 to 6 days, to be delivered and  PDI by dealer for my collection 4/9/21

Yes will be picking up with new registration, made sure of that, I didn’t want it to turn up in early July and sit for 6 - 8 weeks at the dealers, so has turned out quite good timing after all. 

Phoned by the dealer today 3/8/21 and was told, your car has left the factory in Germany for the port, so is on its way 😁 

will turn up about mid / late August ready for September delivery, he said he looked last week and it was showing November delivery 

but held off telling me because he thought it might change, well it has  good O  

Hi all  
27/7/21  I received a phone call from the dealer late last week saying, the car will not be delivered in July, so might as well wait until September for the 71 plate, this did not seem like a informed statement more of a guess, I did push for info but he just said he would do his best,  so I am still in the dark with regards to delivery.

update,

Phoned dealer today 8/7/21 and was told that our car had not been finished being made as some parts are missing 🤔 ( why would you start a build if you could not finish it due to parts not in stock ?  )  what would you do with a part made car on the assembly line ? 
I  was told I may get the car early August, so I said well l will pick it up in September with a 71 plate then if that’s the case he seemed relieved. 
Not sure I am being given the whole story.

I'm sure they don't want to hold your build date up unnecessarily so it will get built when it gets built I suppose,  But it's still very frustrating all you want is your new car and now would be good.

It took about 3-4 weeks before the dealer phoned me with a build week, but I did add a few extras on in the mean time so May have had an adverse effect on the build time, We have in the past just looked at the vehicles in stock and pick one that was best for us, I say us because my wife drives the car 95% of the time, I just clean and refuel it. 🤔

I ordered the same 9th of may and was told end of September delivery, being  built            ( born ) next week delivery about 3-4 weeks later, but  may wait until 1st September for 71 plate. 

My expected date given by the dealer was end of September but look to be picking it up maybe mid July would like to track it online but have been told it's unreliable and in any case I can't find the app to track it with, I ordered mine 9th of may, so our timings would be about right. 
What one Have you ordered ? 

I have now been given a build week of 21st June, week 26 and a delivery time of about 3-4 weeks after that so looking good
