  1. Cheers Darryl, looks like the sellers from Germany. Funnily enough I'm driving out there next month. Any idea if i can get my part number without taking the gearbox apart? Thanks.
  2. Interestingly i did find a DMF in the LUK catalog online for my car but no clutch kit. Frustrating but will see if a phone call helps. I do have full Europe breakdown cover which is always handy! it will likely be toward the summer when i get the work done. If i do have any joy supplying parts outside of main dealer will definitely be back to share how!
  3. Hi Steve, I did have a look at both Sachs and LUK but no luck.
  4. Hi Folks, Had my A4 nearly 2 years now, just shy of 60k miles. 1.4tfsi manual. I’m planning a long road trip this summer and am planning on changing clutch prior to the trip. 3000mile trip each way. My clutch biting point is pretty high and i get a judder when lifting off at times. My question is can i buy after market clutch kit? I’ve had a look on euro car parts and others, no one seems to supply the part other than direct from Audi. Also do you tend to change flywheel along with the clutch? How much have you spent on this type of job? TIA.
  5. Hey, That’s cool, not a problem. Hope you’re enjoying your hybrid! I’ve only just made the jump to petrol.
  6. Hi All, Recently purchased a 2016 A4 1.4 tfsi, so far so good. Prior to this car i have always owned diesels which are better suited to long journeys (i think). I am planning on driving to Turkey next month, i’ve made this journeys numerous times before. It’s roughly a 2000 mile journey London to Istanbul, driving through 9 countries. Just wanted to find out if you had any tips for the journey. I will obviously be taking out European breakdown cover, i have already noticed the A4 seems to get through a bit of oil ( about half a litre in the 2.5k miles i’ve done in 2 months) so i will take a couple of litres of oil with me. The car will be doing motorway speeds all the way there except for traffic jams, fuel stops and border crossings other than this the Engine will be continuously running between 2-3k rpms for about 30 hours in pretty hot weather. With the car being a petrol anything else I should bear in mind? With the previous cars i’ve let them idle for a few minutes before switching off for stops other than that just cracked on. Appreciate your input, cheers.
  7. Hi gents, so i bought an A4 today from near Liverpool, bought it off a second hand car dealer, fantastic guys. I did notice the clutch biting point was pretty high when i test drove the car, the dealer told me this is normal on Audis? Is this so? He has given me 12 months warranty on the clutch on top of 3 months standard warranty, thats what swayed me to purchase in the end. Also on the 200 mile journey back to London the car averaged just under 58mpg. Amazing.
  8. Cheers guys, i appreciate the responses. I do think the interior on the Audi’s are also much more modern and sleek. I’m going to view an A4 next week, low mileage with service history. The only thing that surprised me Is the 20k service interval. I have always serviced my cars at a 1yr/10,000 mile interval and will do so with the A4.
  9. Thanks gents, One question i did have is how is the car with this engine at motorway speeds 80-90mph? Are you working the engine hard at those speeds? I think my mind is made up on the A4. Just waiting to find the right one. Looking for something with low mileage, good service history at the right price lol.
  10. Hi All, I am in the market to buy a second hand motor. I have been going back and forth between a Passat, A4, C class or 3 series. I have just come from owning a passat so ideally want to try something different, i also want to buy a petrol engine to avoid any Dpf issues as my daily commute is 15 mile round trip in London traffic. The interior, styling and value for money draws me to the audi A4. I am leaning towards buying an A4 1.4Tfsi 2016 below 50k miles ideally. I have had a trawl through the internet as you do and there seems to be some noise around the COD system. Other than that i haven’t seen many other issues. Was just wondering if anyone could share their experiences with this model car and engine? Also anything to look out for when buying the car would be appreciated. Thanks.
