  1. My 2014 8VA key was looking very second hand so I purchased a replacement rubber keypad for it. I didn't realise that are different types of key and the 'pips' on the back of the new keypad aren't long enough to activate the pads inside the key. I can't seem to find the correct replacement on ebay or Amazon; can anyone offer advice? Johnno
  2. Thanks for your advice Gareth; will do.
  3. Thanks Gareth. The reason I posted this question was because the reply from Tayna was very non-committal putting the onus onto myself to make the correct selection,,, Earlier I found a useful tool on the Varta website (my existing battery is Varta); it lets you search for the current equivalent of an older Varta model that I shall order from Tayna taking your advice not to buy the cheapest. Regards Johnno
  4. Hi, my A3 is a 2014 2.0 TDI Sportback and I need to change its battery. Thanks to advice received on here I appreciate it will need recoding afterwards. My question is now in regard to the type of terminal posts this vehicle is designed for: parallel or tapered? It isn't obvious by looking at them with the clamps attached and I don't want to remove them until I have the new battery. Johnno
  5. Thanks Steve, I’ll fit a new battery then get an independent to do the recoding as previously recommended. Johnno
  6. Many thanks Gareth, the voltage should have indeed been 12.24 not 2.24…
  7. Thanks Roy
  8. my 2014 A3 8VA 2.0 tdi looks like it needs a new battery. 2.24v at rest (alternator charging at 14.5v). If I install a new battery myself will I create issues with coding, warning lights etc? I don’t have access to vcds.
