Environmental Disposal Charge levied on service contract
Nop, have to pass the local tip on the way home from the tyre fitters so drop them off. But this is off topic, I'm asking which other Audi dealers charge for disposal of service items separately and as an extra to an Audi service contract.

Environmental Disposal Charge levied on service contract
That's my plan for the next visit, I'll take a 10 litre container for the oil, a bag for the filter and a box for any old parts and call in at the local tip on the way home.

Environmental Disposal Charge levied on service contract
Apparently £9.00 per invoice so it doesn't matter how much needs disposing of it's £9 provided there is something. some tyres, brake pads & disks all round along with an oil & filer change would be £9 as would just a rear wiper blade change.

Environmental Disposal Charge levied on service contract
Where else in the UK are Audi dealerships charging and extra 'Environmental Disposal Fee' even for customers that have purchased pre-paid service plans? At least two in Scotland are but I just wondered how widespread this questionable fee is being levied? It's been waived for my current visit but I've been told it will be payable going forward on oil services as a minimum. Just interested. TIA

Front Bumper 360Deg Camera Swap
The lens on my camera has parted company with the base so I now get a pink camera image. I've acquired a replacement camera but I'm struggling to get at the camera, does anyone have any instructions on how to swap the camera? Cheers for any help

A6 Avant C8, which trim?
If you can find one with Air Suspension then you'll be sorted.

S6 Air Suspension Drop
I don't want to type the word begging with Y as I'll get bitten! After the dealership got 'the tool' from Audi for the 3rd / 4th time to plug into the suspension it's had both front suspension units replaced (I think it only needed one but OS was swapped first and NS when the fault came back within 48h), a controller and some software updates and so far so good. Major issue was the dealership getting hold of 'the tool' as it appeared to take 3-9 weeks to get hold of from Audi UK.

S6 Air Suspension Drop
Appears to be sorted but looking for a C8 specialist once the warranty expires as I've lost total confidence with the main dealer customer services management. I found a dealer with decent customer servers but as soon as they had to escalate for clearance I encountered feedback from someone who shouldn't be in this type of roll. I still have lots CAN bus communications errors but can't get Audi to do anything about them, TADS (they all do that sir) but I work in data communications and don't agree. It's either poor module firmware or a loose fibre/copper connection. If I had access to the schematics and module / connections location I'd go through it myself once out of warranty but I cant find these anywhere. Cheers for the chase.

Audi A6 Avant tow bar fitting
Any good 3rd party fully integrated CAN bus tow-bar electronics will deal with all of the advanced features, however when I researched this these were at least twice the cost of a dumb system. In the end I opted for a genuine Audi tow-bar retrofit for a stupid amount of money but it just works and does lots of smart tweaks to the suspension, gearbox and engine that make towing 1.6 tonnes effortlessly.

S6 Air Suspension Drop
Sorry for the delay in updating, front NS suspension unit replaced but the car is still dropping on all four corners, roughly 10mm on both fronts and 6mm on both rears after 6 days of being parked up; is this acceptable?

Module 19 - Error Code U12D000 'IPv6 address conflict'
I think it might be something to do with the dealerships and/or how my car is configured but a full MMI reset hasn't fixed the issue. The car has reported the U12D000 "IPv6 address conflict" messages while in the Audi main dealer workshops, 3 different ones so far. 1st dealership - Where I purchased the car from would not come back to me and have now folded. 2nd dealership - Closes one to home wouldn't even acknowledge I'd asked them, very poor service and they tried to get me to change the rear brakes, £480 estimate, stating the wear was in the amber range whereas dealer 3 has twice reported the brakes are barely warn. 3rd dealership - Has acknowledged the request and are looking into it🤞.

Agreed, cheers

S6 Air Suspension Drop
Steve, cheers for the feedback. No messages unless it's on the desk at which point it reports a "Sports differntail Fault" and an "Air suspension: vehicle currently too low" and a C11E2F1 and a couple of U122B00 messages. If the suspension just drops a bit then nothing so I agree an airbag or possibly an air suspension controller that has a leek??

S6 Air Suspension Drop
Before I do battle with the dealership, is it acceptable for the air suspension to drop over, say, a week and if so what's acceptable? Originally reported the the front air suspension was on the bump stops after 7 days and the rears had dropped as well. Dealership changed the front right suspension unit (why they can't use nearside and offside I don't know) Put the car in quarantine for a week and visually it appeared to have dropped so before unlocking and getting in the car I took the following measurements: Front OS – 704mm Front NS – 695mm Rear OS – 732mm Rear NS – 710mm After I started the car they changed to: Front OS – 722mm Front NS – 729mm Rear OS – 729mm Rear NS – 721mm It's defiantly better than it was but still dropping What are peoples thoughts on cause and levels (if any) of acceptable drop over time. Up until Sept 2023 (2 1/2 years old) it hadn't dropped at all when left. TAI

A6/S6 avant Vorsprung reviews/comments from owners
The pessimist in me says there isn't a shortage of blocks but a shortage of EV and low CO2 emission vehicle sales that means selling a large diesel will attract the EU emissions fine and they haven't factored in the alleged 10,000 Euro fine for exceeding there allowance. I believe Merc have the same issue E450d (EU manufacture) very long lead times, GLE450d (US manufacture) available even though we are supposed to be linked to EU rules. I'm probably reading too much into recent supply issues.

How does the mhev work on my car ?
What's the build up of the 100KG+ for the MHEV as it's not actually propelling the car? On my 2022 S6 it only appears to be a 48V battery, 48V starter/alternator and a 48V turbo motor??

A6/S6 avant Vorsprung reviews/comments from owners
Fairly sure it is. I'm now bias but it felt more planted and less pitch and roll. Not to be too blunt about it but these are mile munching exec cars with some added oomph. I regular do 275 mile trips without a stop, get 41+ MPG while still 'making progress', have some fun and I get out ready to do a days work. My wife hates it, too big and too many lights and buttons but this just given me more opportunity to drive it. The difference between Eco and Dynamic is marked in mine but even in Dynamic the 4-wheel steering maybe making some of the sensation you are expecting, compared to my E350d Merc I had before it took some time to get full attuned. Interestingly I have a client that took delivery of an RS6 at the same time as I got my S6, he has no idea what's under his right foot as he doesn't use it and his eats tyres, maybe that how they make it feel more direct! Can you get Matrix headlights on the current S6? I was told mine was one of the last to get them because of component shortages and Audi wouldn't be reintroducing them until the next gen was released.

A6/S6 avant Vorsprung reviews/comments from owners
Having driven bot a Vorsprung and a none Vorsprung S6 prior to purchasing mine they are both very component cars and both have a pleasant ride quality with one up, where the Vorsprung wins hands down is when towing and/or fully loaded you just don't know on the air suspension. Other than the MPG I'm not really aware I'm towing 1.4 tonnes and carrying 150Kg in the boot! My decision was also based on mine being a keeper. I've always been a firm believer they you add as few option as possible because these cost for these is generally written off the day it leaves the showroom (with a few exceptions) so I'm hoping mine will be worth a lot more than an A6 with lots and lots of options as and when it's time to move it on in 9 years time.

Ceramic brake upgrade for an S6
Steve, I have no issues with the Brembo product, I trust the brand. My original post states your feedback possibly negates the last six words, thankyou. I have no wish to spent many thousands on a ceramic solution but so far nobody has come up with an alternate. I might try a set of the Brembo's on the front of my car and feedback to Joe, as requested, before changing to a ceramic solution (if one exists) and if they don't resolve my issue. Finally, and with all due respect, your perspective is wrong and you clearly don't know me.

Ceramic brake upgrade for an S6
I might be misreading the Brembo document but surly once the disks have done a few miles the coating will have warn away and we'll be back to surface rust??

Ceramic brake upgrade for an S6
Cheers, I'll given them a go.

Ceramic brake upgrade for an S6
Firstly, is this possible? Was it ever an option on the C8 S6's? If so how do I get a parts explosion/breakdown for the the current "non-ceramic" and "ceramic" brake options so I can create a shopping list? I'm not looking for performance reasons, I'm looking because the car is kept outdoors 50m for the sea. The car is protected to hell and kept clean but I can't do anything about the brake disks and it's torcher listening the the grinding of the pad and disks every time it' rubbing off the surface rust, let alone the reduction is lifespan! Friend/neighbour has a GT3 and an M3 both both ceramic disks and doesn't have an issues even though he has his parked outside as well. Cheers

Traction control indicator & rear pad wear
Does this generation of car have a traction control type indicator that flashed when the systems have jumped in to stop the wheels loosing traction? I'm used to driving cars on track without any traction control so my driving style is probably different to someone who's grown up with it but I'm trying to explain why my car is eating rear brake pads. Fronts at 15% warn after 18K miles but the rears are 60% warn. If there isn't an indicator I'm just going to have to modify my driving style🙃.
