  2. Hi steve Ok thanks for the info, I will keep you informed with the progress Dale
  3. Hi Steve Sorry to bother you again but do you know what this is on the engine that i have circled in blue, it has a pipe from the air filter box and electrical wires coming out the back. Thanks Dale
  4. Hi steve I have a friend who says he's going to reset the throttle body on sat afternoon. I had the EPC ( Electronic Power Control ) light come up on the dashboard snd when I looked it up it said that it indicates a problem with the vehicles throttle system which could include the accelerator pedal, fuel injection throttle body. I'll keep you informed Thanks Dale
  5. Hi Steve As promised here are some pictures of my engine. Dale
  6. Hi Steve My car is petrol and does not have a turbo. I've been reading other posts similar to mine on here and it seems that my car does not have a MAF, which i find hard to believe,. Im going to renew the spark plugs and leads at the weekend. I took the throttle body off and cleaned it but to no affect. Baffled, I am. I will post pictures of my engine very soon. Dale
  7. Hi Steve I believe this to be the case. I have a 2008 1.6 8v a3 sline and have looked for it countless times ive had the pipe off between the filter and the throttle body and there's nothing there, my car is idling badly and i want to change the throttle body but Autodoc Sent the wrong one and also change the MAF if I can find it. Thanks Steve Dale
  8. Hi Jason Haven't got back on here as im still waiting to send the throttle body back to Autodoc. They have to be the worst company to deal with. Whilst im on this subject, do you know where or if I have a MAF sensor. Thanks Dale
  9. Hi Jason The Spec is, Audi A3 1.6 8v 58 plate S Line Thanks Jason i will watch the video and get back to you Dale
  10. Hi I'm changing my throttle body for a new one, what I want to know is, are they plug and play ie already set up or do you have to "tune" them in. I read that you can do this by turning the ignition on, not starting the engine, and hold down the throttle pedal for 15 seconds then turn the ignition off and then start the car and it should be done. The reason im changing it is because sometimes it doesn't idle properly and other times it goes into limp mode with the ESP warning light coming on, I have to turn it off then turn it back on to clear it. I've had it on a machine and it threw up some codes, pic included. It has a factory recall on it but Audi's wont touch it until all problems are fixed and to be honest i cannot afford their prices. Thanks Dale
  11. Hi Jason Thankyou for clearing that up for me as i thought because it has led around the bulbs i was under the impression that something was at fault This weekend i will try to fit a new throttle body as i have problems with that Thanks again Dale
  12. I will give this a go thanks Gareth
  13. Hi When I put my lights on my rear lights light up including the break lights and the fog lights, now I know this is not normal, I have taken the lenses off and the bulb holders but they seem fine. When i put my foot on the break pedal they do illuminate brighter and the same with the fog lights but the bulbs are all single pole so it doesn't make sense. Has anyone else had the same problem or know how to fix it. Thanks in advance Dale
  14. Hi Gareth Thankyou and certainly will go through the wiring in the boo/tailgate Dale
  15. Thankyou Steve, I believe you are very correct, as I say , I removed those modules and the front fogs still are active as cornering lights which leads me to wonder what the hell were those things actually doing, also still have no joy resolving the rear lights but i won't give up, thanks again Dale
  16. Hi Steve I checked the fog light bulbs and all seem to be working as normal, just cannot get my head around it When then modules were on the front fogs they were working when i turned the steering wheel or indicated so i know the bulbs work there but when i took the modules off i get no front fogs at all 🤷‍♂️
  17. Hi Steve, I haven't looked at those yet but will do and I'll let you know. Thanks mate Dale
  18. Hi all I'm new to this forum, my name is Dale and I recently purchased an A3 Sline 2009, the problem i have is that when I put my lights on, even in DRL mode, my brake lights are on, albeit when I put my foot on the brake, the break lights do glow even brighter and the same with my rear fog lights although they are all single pole bulbs 😫🤔, my front headlights are on in DRL mode also, the person i brought it from had modules fitted so that when you put the indicator on or turned the steering wheel that particular side fog lamp would light up, I removed the modules and now i have no front fog lamps at all, although when the modules were fitted i still had no front fog lamps when i switched them on, ive taken the rear lights out and can see no alterations to the wiring whatsoever, its becoming a real head scratcher, can anyone help Many thanks in advance Dale
