  1. Thanks for the info ; thing is I plan to change my car next year so just need probably one reset Is a cheaper OBD2 an option for just one reset?
  2. Hi I have the above warning every time I start and shutdown the car and it is v annoying! I do my own servicing and don't want to pay an arm and a leg for Audi to walk under the car and reset the warning ( £450 ) I know you need a scanner to reset the warning , so could someone recommend a suitable device to do this for my A3 8V? many thanks
  3. Hi thanks yes I will do a search for local independants
  4. Hi Magnet Thanks for the info So , the car has been serviced by Audi Ayr since new , but here is a funny story ; when I researched the service schedule I misunderstood the blurb and thought you had to have the car serviced every 2 years! So I had the service every 2 years until about 4 years ago when someone explained the actual interval and then it was serviced yearly plus MOT since Yes I do realise the low mileage can be a problem - until about 6 months ago it was used maybe once a month + the trip to the folks c500mi return + a holiday of c1000mi but recently I am using it every Wed on a local trip! It does get up to temp on these runs Totally agree re oil change and I do get this done I have used A for Audi in Glasgow but it is an hours drive away and I worry if any MOT work is necessary it involves a bit of faff thats why I would welcome a recommendation of a local Ayrshire garage? Harry Quick PS - Had a lucky break last year - drove to W Yorks and the "gearbox fail warning" light came on Thought it was false but took it to Audi Huddersfield and NO it was real! LUCKILY it was a manufacturing fault (well known - cant remember the code) and was fixed for free (otherwise a 4K repair!)
  5. Hi Stevey Yep just what I suspected - I had to check I heard right when quoted £450 for oil+pollen + a "walk around" FFS!! Is there somewhere on this forum where I can get recommended independents in my area? thanks again
  6. Sorry should headline "what is involved" - can't seem to edit a post once live??
  7. Hi Folks Not been on for a while! So my 2017 A3 8v is due service/MOT in December and I have been recommended the above service for the grand price of £450 So what I want to know is , apart from oil/filter change + pollen , what exactly am I getting for my money? OK I know Audi=expensive but I would not want to be "rinsed" for a lot of "inspections" which are not that necessary or that I can do myself? The car has only done 14K since new since my retirement and I just wonder if I should have the cheaper oil/filter change? Opinions welcome
