  1. Yup - about the same time on Saturday- think it must have been an over the air update gone wrong and then corrected.
  2. Apologies if this has been asked before but I can't find an answer anywhere - yesterday when I got in the car the quick access bar on the mmi had moved from the right hand side of the screen to the left and I can't find how to move it back - does anyone know how to do it please I'm pulling my hair out going through every menu trying to find it
  3. When I got the car I had to go through about 4 menu screens to turn it off - I then read a post giving instructions on how to make a shortcut button that appears on the aircon screen - so now at least its a single press button like the start/stop button - but it needs to be pressed everytime as it resets to on when the car is turned off and on - so when I get in the car I turn off the stop start turn off the "nagger" and disable lane keep assist - annoying if your just nipping to the shop.
  4. Hi, thanks for that - it looks like I was barking up the wrong tree - maybe I just need to wait and see if someone manages to crack the new dsf2 encryption (think that's what it's called). I think with the way cars are going now by forcing you to do things and so called safety systems that cannot be turned off there is going to be a healthy market for 2023 cars
  5. Hi, thanks but that's the old type when you set a speed max and the car tells you when you go over it - the "nagging" device is camera and GPS based
  6. Hi, thanks for the info - if the company you mention does software for my car would this unlock all the modules so they could be coded - not for an engine remap but for things like lane departure, and speed sign recognition being able to turn off permanently
  7. Hi, when the roadsign camera recognition system pucks up a speed sign say 30mph if you go too 35mph it chimes like a seatbelt warning chime and it keeps chiming as long as your over the speed limit - you can turn it off but everytime the cars ignition is turned off it resets to on position - (all 24 cars are fitted with it as its new EU law and from 2025 you will not be able to turn it off)
  8. I've got a new 2024 model a6 avant - it's one of the new totally locked down models - it can't be coded at all, no odb11, vcds, odis - nothing - it won't even accept an AI box. And has a speed nagging device fitted. My question is if i replace the ecu with a 2023 ecu will this be able to be coded or is it not the ecu that controls these functions - if its not the ecu then what does control functions like, lane departure warning, speed nagging device, tail light animation and such like - any help would be appreciated
  9. Thanks for the help - I only do about 9k miles a year do you think service should be fixed or variable and will this effect the value of the service plan offer - sorry so many questions
  10. Hi, I've wondered about the service schedule - on a previous a5 lease the service was variable and I didnt even service it on the 2 year lease ( only did about 15k miles).but on my q7 service was every 12 months or 10k miles - why are some variable and others not? Service.pdf
  11. Hi, it's a 3 year personal lease with annual mileage of 10k - i might end up buying it at the end of the lease if i can get it cheap enough - the tyres are covered for wear & tear. So I was thinking over the 3 years 1 set of tyres @ £700 (only 19's fitted) 1 major service @ £300/£400 1 oil change @ £75 1 brake pad change @ £240 So about £1300 in total and they want £1200 for the contract so not far off each other - but with full servicing and maintenance covering most things if i needed front and rear brakes done or brake fluid service or any other maintenance I would be winning. Think I'm probably going to go with it
  12. I got offered - service, maintenance and tyres for £33 per month for 36 months - I'm trying to decide myself - think it would workout exactly the same as paying when things needed doing so would gain if anything else went during the 3 years
