  1. Appreciate it, thanks! Will update when I get a chance to have a further look.
  2. Just watched the video, doesn't look too bad to do. I don't have any limp mode issues and plenty of boost, and no codes, but I guess if it is blocked rather than an electrical fault that would be why.
  3. Appreciate your response and info. From the info I shared do you think this is the most likely cause? I'll watch a few videos and have a go as soon as I get a chance!
  4. I'm really not sure, not since I've owned it certainly, I've only had the car a couple of months and the history is limited, although it has had a DPF replacement, which I guess could mean everything else is pretty sooted up! I'm trying to work out the easiest way to get direct access to the EGR to spray it directly, would that be the best course of action? Thanks for your reply!
  5. Thanks for the reply! I have run a full can of EGR and intake cleaning spray through on the off chance, but that could definitely be something to try and physically check! I assume it's vacuum operated so trying the actuator might give me an indication if it's stuck?
  6. Hi all, New here, and recently acquired a 2.0tdi A4 B7 170 and I'm having a bit of an issue, was wondering if anyone may be able to shed any light on or provide some advice! The car always idles at 880rpm, never seems to go any higher or lower, and the exhaust stinks. I've done a couple of thousand miles in it and I don't think it's stuck on DPR regen or anything, no fault codes or EML etc. I've run live data through the car scanner app and can't quite work out what's going on! When I do the non continuous monitors check, O2 sensor 1 is 20.8%, Vs 14.7% min and 21% max readings, but it passes as it's without tolerance. I've screenshot some of the live data including MAF, MAP and O2 sensor and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions where to go from here, something doesn't look right to me. If anyone has any suggestions where the issue could lie or if this looks normal I would really appreciate it! Many thanks in advance!
  7. I've had the brakes checked by a garage and apparently there are no issues with the calipers etc, they wound the caliper back etc and checked it all. Apparently likely a suspension knock, and the squeal for the last couple of days has been pretty much non existent. Any ideas what suspension would make a single metallic knock only occasionally on braking?! Apparently there are quite a few worn bushes so trying to narrow it down! Thanks again!
  8. Thanks for this, sounds like maybe when they 'cleaned then up' the high temp rubber let go maybe?! I guess that could cause the knock, as it wasn't noticeable before! I'll see if I can get someone to replace the caliper pins and boots and see how that goes, I don't think the pads are OEM as I have a euro car parts invoice for them with the history I think. A really annoying issue that didn't present when I test drove, and only seems to appear at slow speeds when warm, or triggered by certain steering angles, and seems to ease if I steer a bit! Thanks for your help.
  9. Hi all, Newbie Audi owner here, recently bought an A4 B7. After some advise with a strange squeal which didn't appear when I test drove the car, which seems to be related to wheel speed, and stops when braking. When warm it appears (I assume as it only starts after 20 mins or so) I get a constant squeal from drivers side wheel. I assumed caliper sticking so had it checked by a garage who 'cleaned up the brakes and regressed them' and said they were basically new, and all good. Since then I have a knock when braking, and the squeal continues on the same side. I've shoved my phone behind the wheel and got a pic of what looks like a caliper pin without a boot, but it may be something else! I am wondering whether that could be related, however I've never really noticed the wheel getting excessively hot, however it's not had any very long drives. I've noticed it seems to start after a sharp turn but this may be coincidental! Any suggestions where to start with these, or what they could be?! Thanks in advance!
