  1. might need to go to a paint suppliers and get it scanned or matched to colour a chip.
  2. excellent glad you got it sorted and thanks for the update.
  3. Slightly miffed my question was deemed “criticism” and was not considered “worth commenting on” i was genuinely interested in the purpose of the switch as it maybe have been something I could incorporate into my own A3 dashboard. Never mind , I’ll move on
  4. maybe something in here!??? ...
  5. What was the outcome ? as i stated above , it has been fine for over 12 months but ive noticed the (very) occasional creak since the hotter weather what did they replace & did they say what was causing the noise? They changed the parts i supplied above...under my self diagnosis of the issue.
  6. as i posted ...above
  7. tahts pretty much the same sound as mine. as previously posted above, I had a few parts replaced and it was pretty much sorted but very ocasionally, it has started to do it again. im watching this thread with interest. fingers crossed your Audi specialist solves it for you. hope you post back here with their findings.
  8. Rather than create new post, probably better updating your original post 😉
  9. Most certainly does 😉
  10. For those who do their own servicing or just for topping up !? 5 ltr Castrol edge 5w30 LL currently £35 on Amazon with free shipping.
  11. Fantastic result guys. Thsnks for keeping this one updated. hopefully it will help somebody in the future
  12. Im intrigued, what switch are you adding Bob?
  13. Some might know its not particularly easy or cheap to get Apple Car Play into a 8V , A3. I successfully achieved killing two birds with one stone here ... bridged the ugly gap underneath the climate controls and have fully functioning car play in the bargain ... Ok ive lost my cup holders, which i never actually used anyway and the none slip matting is a temporary measure until the drinks holder caps arrive
  14. keep us posted on how it goes Gill
  15. Nice! Subtle mods for the win 😎
  16. With mine, I supplied all parts, Audi specialists charged £200 to fit
  17. you can usually tell by looking at arb bushes if they have deteriorated. Fairly simple job to swap out compared to top mounts which are more involved. top mounts, you cant tell for certain until you remove them from the car (unless they’re really bad) perhaps, your mechanic can advise further
  18. No I’m not sure. But it was ok for 12 months after changing. . Dampers were originals so needed changing anyway
  19. had same issue with mine. I suspected top mounts. had top mounts, dampers and drop links replaced. been fine for 12 months but now getting the odd creak again. i used Febi Bilstein top mounts and drop links and OEM spec Sachs dampers.
  20. poxy site wont allow linking to imgur 😁 should be working now... as said, bought at 80k sold at 150K in better condition than when I bought it 😄
  21. Bought at 80k sold at 140 odd k. Still on original clutch, exhaust, turbo etc. had replaced wings due to corrosion they rust from inside out. Rear arches can rust but mine were perfect due to me keeping on top of mud/ silt from building up. Chasis also rot free due to keeping on top of it with regular cleaning. I’d replaced dampers and wishbones during my ownership but rear arms bushes were getting tired no major defects just got bored with it and fancied a change. the turbo was always a bit winey but never got worse and always a bit of smoke on first start up, again this never got any worse and is caused by oil leaking past the piston rings after a long stand. Another common issue. in the nine years I had the car as said, never got any worse. Couple of pics from the advert when I sold it…
  22. My previous car was a 2005 2ltr TDI sport, BKD engine. Had it 9 years. Possibly the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. That said, It wasn’t totally without its problems during my ownership and it was getting a bit tired towards the end of my ownershi but it was a Great car, build quality better than my current 2012 1.4 tfsi. Never tuned mine, engine was totally stock. They are plentiful and cheap now. Watch for rust in wheel arches , chasis, noisy, failing turbos
