Had the A3 a couple of months now.. until last weekend I hadn’t played much (at all) with the drive select settings. Tbh, when viewing cars, id dismissed drive select as gimmicky… little did I know what a huge difference the various options enable. Sooo much fun 😁

Some dealers would have had “contacts” who would take the cars not suitable to retail at the dealership. This doesn’t happen so much now instead, none brand, too old or higher mileage cars tend to go to auction.

In my experience a failing wheel bearing usually makes a humming noise which is more pronounced when turning a corner. Also as the bearing deteriorates, roughness can often be felt through the coil spring if the wheel is off the ground and spun.

Over the past two years I’ve noticed Internet forums have much less traffic than before. At least two forums of which I was a member have closed completely.

The crankcase to Turbo breather hose appeared to be deteriorating... on removal, what i thought was the rubber hose turning spongy, was just an outer sheath. Was tricky tracking a replacement ... Surprisingly, the replacement was reasonably priced from Audi ... Strange... the new hose does not have a nozzle on the turbo connector end Where the original has ... What is more puzzling, the nozzle is blanked off on the inside original in place (turbo end) Replacement ...

Can the start up needle sweep be enabled on very early (2012) 8vs?

I haven’t Steve. I’m toying with the idea of using a grinder to split them and pull them apart. Obviously this will render them as scrap but they’re pretty poor anyway.

From what I have seen, they are a push (friction) fit. there are four clips (no screws/bolts)attached to the inside which slide over the actual tail pipes from the back box. Theres no way of getting any type of release fluid to where the clips are. It’s a good design…but a bad design 🤔

I’d like to replace the chrome trims on my A3. from what gather you twist and tug at the trim until it comes away from the back box. mine are not for budging at all 😬 any tips to ease removal?

Kinda there with this… from a series of back and forth emails with images, my local Audi main dealer have come up with a part number… 04E 103 474 BB. snag is, after doing a google search of said part number, images don’t look exactly like my part. I’ll order anyway and cross that bridge when I come to it.

Do you guys not leave the car in gear when parked up?
