  1. I'm no expert but the sensor is usually where the most weight is, i.e. under you! Does this alert occur when someone is sitting on the rear seats with their seatbelt undone? Also, does it still not alert when you are in motion with your seatbelt undone? If it alarms when you are driving but your belt is off, then its doing it's job. I know when my kids are sitting in the car, I can tell who has their belt on and who hasn't by the dash display. Have you checked fuses, etc for any blown ones? It's a simple check initially and a potentially cheaper fix if its just a fuse - otherwise testing sensors and replacements could end up being pricier if you have to take it to a specialist.
  2. ok thanks Cliff. Will mention it to the mechanic when its over for its oil service and check.
  3. Hi all, me again with a possibly not very interesting issue with my 2016 A3 2.0 Diesel (184 engine). So AFTER a long drive down the motorway to drop the kids off to school (approx 75km) driving at an average of 120kmph, when I'm driving the backroads and only doing about 50kmph, I get the DPF alert from the car. It will sit in the carpark of work for a while, then I restart it, and it will start up again with no DPF alerts at all - this can run with no DPF alert for several monthrs, or just a few weeks. Faulty sensor I reckon? Anything more serious? Tx again all.
  4. Thanks all for your info, its been very helpful. The car is still a guzzler of diesel (and oil I might add) but I'll have to live with it! 🙂 Appreciate your feedback. everyone.
  5. The A3 is 6-speed manual
  6. The Skoda is 2.0 150 diesel manual. The A3 is 2.0 184 diesel manual. Not a huge difference between them but the A3 engine seems to be working a lot harder.
  7. Hey Gareth, I would have assumed that as the car is smaller than the superb, and a good bit lighter, then the engine wouldn't be working as hard to maintain 120kph? Its not that fast tbh. It just seems excessive.
  8. Hey all, just checking to see if this is normal, but cruising at 120Kmph (70mph~) my engine is running at just over 2k revs. I've a 2016 A3 2.0 184, which recently went through a BG flush for high oil consumption but I doubt that would have a bearing on it. I have started using Redex in my last 2 fills, as I do fairly high milage on a daily basis, about 160km's a day) so trying to keep the diesel bill to a minimum. I have a 2.0 150bhp Skoda Superb that will cruise on about 150k revs at 120kmph so why the hell is my smaller but more powerful engine running harder? (lighter car too...) Any obvious possible issues, or is this just normal for this car?
  9. Hi all, just joined up today. Here's my new machine. I originally had a 2014 A3 1.6 S-Line, then a 2014 A4 TDI. But this little pocket rocket is a drastic improvement. 2016 A3 SPORT 184 - perfect for overtaking muppet drivers on the Irish roads here!!
