Seat belt sensor

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just some advice please. My S3 has an issue, when I sit in the car thr seat belt sign or bleep doesn’t work, even I sit in passenger side, before it used to display on dash and bleep, nothing now. Is it a sensor?, where is the sensor located ?
I would appreciate if someone can help, has anyone had this problem before??

Thanks

I'm no expert but the sensor is usually where the most weight is, i.e. under you! Does this alert occur when someone is sitting on the rear seats with their seatbelt undone? Also, does it still not alert when you are in motion with your seatbelt undone? If it alarms when you are driving but your belt is off, then its doing it's job. I know when my kids are sitting in the car, I can tell who has their belt on and who hasn't by the dash display. Have you checked fuses, etc for any blown ones? It's a simple check initially and a potentially cheaper fix if its just a fuse - otherwise testing sensors and replacements could end up being pricier if you have to take it to a specialist.
