Audi A6 C6 2009 CAJ 3.0 TFSi V6 Engine Breaking For Spares
Hi Everyone I have a low mileage A6 Avant 3.0T 2009 Le Mans that i bought with a seized engine with the intention of just replacing the engine with a good used one from the internet. I removed the seized lump and dismantled it to try and discover the cause of the seizure (and to also learn how it goes together) and found that it seemed to have been caused by overheating (leaking radiator & PCV valve) with 2 x middle piston big ends and the centre main bearing burned black. After much deliberation on whether to rebuild or replace my seized engine i bought a used replacement engine from the internet and ended up buying a CWG engine with a misfire. Hoping (foolishly) that this was just an injector or coil pack issue & not realising the differencies in the engines i then found out that the rear plate is completely different between the CAJ & CWG engines. Upon changing the rear plates i then found there were metal particles in the sump and upon further investigation found that No6 cylinder had a big chunk missing off its lower flank with bits of piston ring floating in mid air. I completely stripped the engine and removed the damaged piston & conrod and luckily it had only caused a slight nick in the cylinder wall and the crank was still moving freely. I have managed to replace the damaged piston & conrod with a good one from my seized engine using the big end bearings from the new engine as these were identical in weight & size (checked with micrometer & scales) but obviously the piston rings are not bedded in to this block but the crank does now move freely. All of the other parts of the engine seem identical (block, heads, cams, timing chains etc) and i have all of these parts dismantled and all seem in good condition. I have since managed to source a third good complete engine for the car and I am now willing to sell off the previous 2 engines or any engine part separately or all good parts as a complete working engine in need of new gaskets, chains & seals etc. I have both CAJ & CWG backplates available which should make it compatible with many Audi's. Please message me with any questions.

Loss of power - turbo? EGR? sensor? please help
Hi there. Something i have found on mine that i was not expecting was the wastegate actuator lever had detached from the wastegate flap for some reason, i'm certain that this would cause a similar issue and it's hard to see without removing the turbo but may be worth checking out first 👍

Audi A4 B8 Avant 2.0 TFSi Breaking For Spares
I have an Audi A4 B8 Avant 2009 2.0 TFSi in red that i am breaking for spares due to engine failure. All parts are available apart from the front bumper and door mirrors and most panels & all seats have already been removed ready for collection. The interior is in black half-leather and is in good clean condition. The car is already listed for breaking on ebay with a lot of parts listed separately but please let me know if there is a specific part that you need. The car is being dismantled at my home in Benfleet in Essex. I am happy to send some smaller parts via Parcelforce to mainland UK only but anything else will need to be collected. Please PM me with any questions.

Audi A4 B8 2.0TFSi Cylinder 2 Misfire
HI Steve I did a compression test myself and tried to do it when the engine was warm and i got 170psi on 1,3 &4 cyliders and about 150psi on cyl2. I would have expected a lot lower reading if the fault was carbon build up but i'm not that familiar with these engines so perhaps someone would have a better idea than me?

A4 Avant B7 170 BRD Not Starting
Hi Steve Good point! i was advised that these injectors didn't need coding but perhaps you are right. Although it doesn't explain why it still wouldn't run when i refitted the original injector?? Unless you know different??

Audi A4 B8 2.0TFSi Cylinder 2 Misfire
Hi There I have various Audi's with different problems and this one is a frustrating as the others. I bought the car recently with a known misfire on cylinder 2 so i replaced the coil packs and spark plugs as it was due a full service anyway and it seemed to be an electrical misfire. This has not cured the problem. The engine will initially start ok from cold and run fine but then starts to run lumpy and throw a fault code which shows as "cylinder 2 misfire" on a code reader. I then suspected a faulty injector which i have replaced with a new Bosch unit but it's still running exactly the same. I've done a compression test which seems to show all is fine although cylinder 2 was slightly lower than the others but not drastically. I then suspected carbon build up but when i changed the injector i inspected the intake valves and although they did have some carbon deposits it was quite even across all four cylinders and didn't seem that bad. I would have thought that if this was the problem then it would be evident from start up. Cylinder 2 spark plug does seem to show more sooty deposits than the others but not excessively. I'm assuming that cylinder 2 is the 2nd cylinder from the front of the car? If not then perhaps one of the other injectors is at fault 🤔

A4 Avant B7 170 BRD Not Starting
Hi There Thanks for your reply. Yes i replaced the belt and all the pulleys & tensioner. I did re-check the belt timing and it was spot on & It seems to run ok with easy start so i'm sure it's not the belt. I think you may be right about getting it professionally diagnosed as i've run out of ideas as to what it could be. Everyone i know is telling me to cut my losses and scrap it but although the car is old with quite high mileage i really don't want to do that as it's not in bad condition and i'm also keen to know what's actually wrong with it. I've been told by a diesel injection specialist in Colchester that these engines are unique in that the injectors can't be refurbished but are pretty much indestructible so i'm hoping that someone else out there must have had the same issues that i'm having!!

A4 Avant B7 170 BRD Not Starting
There is fuel pressure at the fuel filter but i don't know how to check whether there is fuel pressure to the engine as the fuel rail is inside the cylinder head on this engine.

A4 Avant B7 170 BRD Not Starting
An update to this post, the engine eventually started briefly with the help of some brake cleaner sprayed into the inlet manifold and it ran on 3 cylinders with the new injector for a short while but then spluttered and died and now won't start again! Obviously the belt timing is ok.

A4 Avant B7 170 BRD Not Starting
Hello everyone. I am hoping that someone can help with my problem? I have an Audi A4 Avant 2008 2.0 Tdi BRD engine that will not start and i am struggling to find out what is wrong with it! Initially it had a faulty injector issue that would drop a cylinder under load. I managed to source a reconditioned injector which i fitted but the engine would not start after fitting it. I then replaced the original injector but the car still won't start. I have a code reader which is showing no fault codes at all so i am at my wits end trying to find out what is wrong I have fitted a new cam belt and the car was running after fitting this so i know this is not the issue e I did try some easy start but al it did was backfire Please help 🙏
