  1. I now have an A4 2.0 ALLROAD  (62 reg) which I bought in August 2019 : the mileage then was 79000.

I purchased (from AUDI) front and rear rubber floor mats.

Last week I noticed the floor under the rear mats was very wet, especially behind the driver’s seat. The floor under the front mats was dry. I removed the rear rubber floor mats.

Over the weekend, when the car was hardly used, the rear floor appeared to dry. But by Tuesday (03/12/19) the floor, particularly behind the drvers seat, was wet again. This was after about driving 70+ miles.

My thoughts were that it could be :-

1leaky door seals or blocked gutters, but there is no visible inrgress of water around the doors

    1. condensation, but there is no evidence of this anywhere else in the car

    1. water entering via the underside of the car, which seems unlikely but possible

    4)    leaky washer connection(s) which I had some years ago on my A4 Avant, but under the front passenger floor

Does anybody have any thoughts, experiences or advice re this problem before I make a ‘wallet emptying’ visit to the AUDI dealership ? All comments appreciated !

  2. I bought my A4 AVANT 2.5 Tdi QUATTRO new in August 2004 (54 reg). In late summer 2013 the nearside rear quarter light window spontaenously shattered twice within about a month. The glass was replaced by my AA insurance, incurring a £60 excess charge each time. In late summer/autumn of 2014 the same window spontaenously shattered three times within about a 2 month period. The first two AA replacements again incurred a £60 surcharge, but on the third occurrence I was advised by AUDI HQ customer services to take the car to my AUDI dealer to resolve the problem. They replaced the glass at a cost of £230. After a year the window has AGAIN spontaenously shattered, which makes 6 times the same window has shattered in a 2 year period. I have NOT had similar problems with any other window. Has anyone had similar problems with spontaenously shattering windows ? Or know how to rectify the problem ? Any assistance appreciated !
