Yes mate, and im more !Removed! confused than ever. The car drives as it should apparently I've not picked it up yet but that !Removed! noise is still there

Hi Steve Thanks for the reply, had it smoke tested today and nothing. When you remove the air filter breather hose the noise dissappears. I had someone message me today telling me to check the gasket on the exhaust manifold incase that was causing the noise.

Arrived at work this morning, revved the car for a listen and of course there's a !Removed! problem. !Removed! whistling noise when revving . AAAAAAARRRGH 20251215_061158.mp4

Yeah it completely stopped, would run for 5-10 seconds and die. Anyway had the turbo done. £600 for a refurbished garrett. Cars running sweet apart from i don't know if it believe the mpg. Says it's only getting 45 mpg max on a 160 mile run. Seen a post on a forum from 2012 and there was a bit of a noise about the mpg on my car. Still looking into this one

Hi folks My mpg readout on the A5 at best says 45mpg on long journeys of 160 miles which i do twice a week and can drop obviously. It doesn't seem to be too bad on fuel so I don't know whether to believe it or not lol. Anyone got any different figures than that. Cheers

Confirmed today the turbo is knackered. The shaft is split on one side. Gutted, the cars only done 60k. Onwards and upwards

The car was scanned and not one code came up which I couldn't believed as I was present.

Hi There, My A5 2.0 tdi 177 conked out on my way to work and we've replaced fuel lift pump as it sounded like there was a fuel issue as it wouldrun for 10 seconds, not take any revs. The timing was re checked by the garage that done it and all was good. For some odd reason the car will run without the intercooler attached. So we took the pcv off and it runs perfectly. Has anyone had this issue. Thanks in advance VID-20251127-WA0002.mp4

Hi Steve You've hit the nail on the head mate this is way out of my league. It's been ongoing for a week now. The car conked out last Sunday on my way to work. This week it's been scanned and boost leak and a glow plug fault came up. The garage that did the timing belt even stripped it back to find it was fine. So we thought it was fuel related as the car would run for 10 seconds and stop. We replaced the lift pump and nothing changed. Tonight when we were looking at it started up and ran fine without some of the air/intercooler pipes attached. We then tried to run with everything as it should be it ran for 10 seconds again and stopped. So tomorrow's episode is to check the car without map/mas sensors attached to see if it will run. Then do a live check with a scanner if we can get it to run.

Hi There I'm not getting 12v to my fuel lift pump, relay has been tested and are fine. Does anyone know where it should go from here. Thanks

Hi Gareth I've just had it recovered back to the garage and after further inspection there's a possibility that the fuel pump under the rear seat is knackered. Just waiting for it to be tested. You can't hear it coming on when the ignition is turned on.

Hi Gareth thanks for replying. Had the car scanned, glow plug 3 and turbo boost less were the codes.

Hi Folks, Bought a 2012 A5 2.0tdi 177, 54k miles in white. Wanted one of these for ages, lovely car to drive etc. I've had the timing belt done and all serviced etc. Driving home from work this morning and could her a strange whining noise quite similar to a clutch slipping but the clutch is fine. There's a slight loss of power, so on my way to work tonight the car lost all power and eventually died with the glow plug symbol flashing. The car would do it's best to start but instantly died . There's no engine management light on. It's not getting scanned until tomorrow. I know there's some very knowledgeable people on this owners club who could possibly shed some light. My !Removed! stress levels are through the roof. Had a heart attack in May at 44 this year so stress is the last thing I need. Thanks in advance

Hi Cliff Thanks for replying to my post. I've had the car thoroughly checked over and they were satisfied that there's no major damage. I was also told that major impact would show up on the diagnostic computer. Hopefully I've managed to escape a major financial catastrophe .

Hi Gareth, Private sale mate Thanks for the info mate. No I didn't know it had been in an accident . The first thing that gave the clue was a bouncing headlight in the dark 3 days after I bought it. So I got the car inspected by a garage and they found a few things , confirmed it had accident damage and didn't charge me as they knew I'd some job on my hands. So luckily I've a good friend who is car daft. He stripped the front end and found a split crash bar, the bumper was glued on, loads of fixing screws missing, headlight mounts not screwed in properly, headlight washer pipe not connected, no crash sensors connected, the dash had been tampered with to the point they stuck black silicone over the airbag symbol and various other things. I messaged the guy i bought it off and he obviously denied knowing anything. So I kept sending him pictures of all the faults and dangerous things we found. He eventually offered £500 to help fix the issues. I've managed to source nearly all the parts within his £500 commitment . The car only has 58k miles which I've checked.

Hi There, Really needing some help folks. Can someone or anyone please tell me what is meant to connect these two mounts please. Bought this 2012 A5 and discovered it had been in an accident. So im trying to rebuild bits that were missing. Having a nightmare from airbag lights have black silicone inside the readout to crash sensors missing. Thanks in advance
