  1. As per the title. They try to come up, but get so far then go back down. I realise they are sensing some resistance and the safety thing is kicking in. On the driver's side, I managed to make it work by spraying Silicone WD40 in the window grooves. That made a right mess, but it worked, and that window is now working as it should. This didn't make any difference on the nearside though. I can get the window to come back up by grabbing the top edge while using the switch and helping it come up, but I have noticed that the glass is able to move front to back (of the car) within the frame. That doesn't seem normal. Anyone else had this?
  2. I left dealing with the warranty company to my garage. It's owned by a friend so I trust them. I was cc'd into all emails though, and the warranty company initially offered £153 towards the replacement. The garage pushed back and they settled on 50/50.
  3. Thought I would drop in and update. The rear screenwash is the plastic nozzle attached to the motor that has failed. Evidently somebody knew because the pipe was disconnected and blocked off. Bit annoying as the motor itself is fine, but the whole thing needs replacing. Warranty company have agreed to meet me half way. Very annoying as I could easily have 3D printed a new nozzle out ABS, but it's done now. I haven't solved the Radio Text thing yet. When the weather improves I'm going to try swapping the keyless entry sensors from handle to handle to see if that's the problem.
  4. Thanks Steve. I'm wondering if the rear washer issue is the same as my daughter had on her Merc A180 where the intake got bunged up with congealed screen wash snot. I'll wait until it's empty then put a kettle of boiling water in the tank. If that doesn't help I'll take it apart. I was assuming that if a pipe had come loose it would eventually cause a little puddle under the car somewhere, but I'm not seeing it. I got 6 months warranty with it, so hopefully they can take a look if I can't fix it.
  5. Oh, also: 3 - The rear washer doesn't seem to work. The pump runs but nothing comes out. Is this a common problem?
  6. Hello everyone. I just bought myself a 2017 A4 Avant S-Line 3.0 V6. My first Audi (having had Skoda/Mercedes/BMW in the past and having been active on the relevant forums there). I am absolutely over the moon with it, it's an amazing car inside and out. Couple of questions that I can't find the answers to in the manual (yes I'm one of those weirdos who reads it from cover to cover): 1 - How do I get Radio Text to display on the screen? At the moment it's a big empty space with "BBC Radio 2" and the logo with nothing else. I have "Detailed station information" ticked in the settings, and if I press the right function button and select "Radio Text" I can see it there, but I'm used to seeing song title and artist or programme information under the station name. There is a picture of this in the manual. 2 - The keyless entry doesn't seem to work how I was expecting. The touch sensors on both front doors do absolutely nothing. The sensors on the rear doors sometimes lock and unlock, but most times just cause the locks to make a small noise, but not actually unlock or lock the car. Anyway, just off out to let the wife drive it for the first time. Wish me luck!
