  2. Turns out it's not the right spacesaver. The steel rim is 6J depth while the OEM Audi version is 4.5J. It was never going to sit low enough - to be fair to the Wheelshop they have agreed to pickup for refund.
  3. Tried this, but need to fit the sub. The lip of the spacesaver after the beading edge of the tyre, rests on the same section of boot floor and is symmetrical width/height on both sides - it's mirrored. There is a cross beam nearest the back of the car that has no indentation (then the floor opens out even more, perhaps for tools or a full hybrid battery) - so when the metal rim of the wheel rests on it, this dictates it's resting place and the height it will sit. It's seems really off to me. The metal spacesaver is basically 2-3cm too tall for my boot floor.
  4. OK, got the spacesaver wheel from the wheelshop and while it fits the hole in the boot floor, the boot floor won't close flat. The height of the wheel is the same as the boot floor on the sides, so the reinforced section of the lifting floor which should slot into the cavity, sits too high on the wheel. So there floor doesn't feel stable and is leaving a raised gap either side. Am I missing something or has the Wheelshop sold me the wrong wheel?
  5. Jacking points confusion. Looking for some advice from fellow C8 A6/A7 owners regarding the OEM Audi jack vs aftermarket jack pads/jacks. I’ve recently bought a space saver setup and currently have the TheWheelShop jack in hand, which uses a slotted/rubber-style jack head intended for pinch weld seams. However, after crawling under the car and properly inspecting the front jacking points on my 2025 A6 C8 Black Edition, I’m now second guessing whether I should instead be buying the official Audi jack. (The jack was gifted as I was going g to but the OEM version). My understanding of pinch weld jacking points was always: - the seam sits inside the slot - the pads either side contact reinforced flat metal surfaces - the seam mainly locates the jack rather than taking the full weight But on the A6, the plastic undertray comes right up to one side of the seam and the side skirt trim comes very close on the other side. There’s also a small triangular piece protruding from the side skirt right at the centre of the jacking point. Because of that, it almost looks like there’s nowhere for the side pads of the aftermarket jack to actually sit without touching plastic trim. That then makes it seem like the metal seam itself is taking most/all of the load, which surprised me. What’s confusing me further is: - the OEM Audi jack head is very shallow and appears designed to contact the seam directly - whereas aftermarket slotted rubber pads imply the surrounding areas are also supposed to support load So before I spend more money on the official Audi jack, I’m trying to understand: - Is the OEM Audi jack actually the better/safer design for these cars? - Is the seam itself genuinely intended to take the weight on the C8 platform? - Are aftermarket slotted jack pads potentially worse on these cars because of the nearby plastic trim/side skirt design? - Has anyone here compared the OEM Audi jack directly against aftermarket options like TheWheelShop one? Photos attached because the jacking arrangement on these newer Audis seems very different to older VAG cars I’ve owned. The Wheelshop jack Audi jack
  6. Just noticed something odd on my 2025 Audi A6 C8 Black Edition and wondering if anyone else’s is the same. Footwell exposed torx bolts. In both front footwells, up near the side trim panels, there’s an oval recessed opening with an exposed Torx bolt visible inside. It almost looks like there should be a plastic blanking cover clipped over it, especially as the recess has what look like retaining tabs moulded into it. The strange thing is: - both sides are identical - the finish around it looks neat/OEM - but visually it still looks “unfinished” to me Before I start chasing Audi for potentially missing trim pieces, can someone with a C8 A6/A7 check theirs and confirm whether these bolts are normally exposed from factory?

  8. I’ve noticed the driver’s side mirror does not appear to fold into the same resting position as the passenger side mirror. The passenger mirror folds in neatly and sits parallel to the body, whereas the driver’s side sits noticeably further outward and at a different angle. I appreciate there may be some tolerance in the folding positions, but I wanted to check whether this is considered normal operation or whether the driver’s mirror may require calibration/resetting of its fold-stop position. Audi dealer pushed me into signing up for the myAudi account and app. Getting into the car there is welcome screen that forces me to pick the user. Anyway to switch this off and just have it load into the home screen. All of the menus seem to have very basic functions and I'm not seeing how to make this go away.
  9. Collected my 2025 Audi A6 C8 S-line Black Edition today and overall very happy, but just wanted some opinions from other C8 owners on a few things as I’m new to Audi ownership. 1. Keyless entry / Advanced Key confusion The car definitely has keyless start and the exterior handles have the dimples/sensor areas on them. However, pulling the handles does not unlock the car. What’s strange is the key flashes red when I pull the handle, almost like the car is detecting the interaction, but it still doesn’t unlock. Does this sound like: - a settings issue? - key/car battery issue? - or does the car simply not have full Advanced Key/keyless entry despite the handle sensors? 2. Genuine Audi all-weather mats Dealer supplied genuine Audi all-weather mats and boot liner as part of the deal. They are definitely genuine OEM parts, but I was surprised how plastic/TPE-like they feel compared to older VAG rubber mats I’ve had previously on my Octavia vRS. Are the current genuine Audi all-weather mats really this hard/plastic-feeling now, or is there another OEM rubber option people prefer? Are there better aftermarket rubber options? The boot liner feels cheap and is not grippy - the Skoda rubber matts where very durable, thick and grippy, so I'm disappointed with these Audi versions labeled as "rubber". I don't see them lasting very long. 3. Scuttle panel / bonnet gap area I also noticed in the area between the bonnet and windscreen/scuttle panel there’s quite a visible gap where you can see wiring/components underneath, including some yellow electrical connectors/plugs. It's the same of both sides. Is this normal on the C8 A6 platform or does something look misaligned/missing? Seems odd to me that there is such a large gap that let's water in. 4. Fixed servicing confusion Before collection I requested the car be set to fixed servicing rather than flexible/longlife. During handover I was told the oil service interval could not yet be changed because the car wasn’t yet properly reading/calculating oil life (only 50 miles on the clock and oil service is reading ------), and that I should drive it for a while and then return to have it changed to fixed servicing. However, the Audi app currently shows the inspection service due around March 2028 / 18,600 miles, despite the car being first registered September 2025. Does this sound like the car is still on flexible servicing logic, and is it normal for Audi systems to need some mileage before fixed servicing can actually be configured? Interior lighting / LED upgrades The interior boot lights seem surprisingly dim and yellow. On my previous Octavia vRS I upgraded the boot lights, roof lights, number plate lights and red door lights to LEDs. Can the same be done safely on the C8 A6, or are modern Audis more sensitive to LED swaps/canbus/electrical monitoring issues now? Thanks.

  12. I'll likely go for the Wheel Shop space saver unless a genuine, immaculate condition Audi versions shows up on the breakers network/Ebay in the coming week.
  13. I've asked the dealer to set to annual service, so the first one will be due this September. I'm definitely getting the Audi service plan, as standard oil service costs are pricey in the South of England. Stepping away from Skoda to Audi is definitely going to have me opening my wallet a little wider! (also on the hook for the "luxury tax" for the next 5yrs. Oof) Looking forward to Saturday pickup!
