Hi all, Looking for some help from someone experienced on the Q7/Touareg platform. Vehicle: 2014 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI Bosch ECU: 0 281 017 445 Symptoms: Vehicle had injector work done on 4 5 and 6, 1 injector replaced and copper seals done on the rest.. Car then drove over 300 miles normally. Then stuttered one day recently and stalled, would not start after; No crank Fans run full speed ECU not reachable via VCDS Fuse 9 in engine fuse box blows as soon as ignition is switched on. With ECU fully disconnected, fuse does NOT blow. With left ECU connector connected, fuse is OK. With the other ECU connector connected, fuse blows instantly. I tried disconnecting: injectors EGR glow system rail pressure sensor made no difference. I have tried: Battery disconnected. Fuse 9 removed. Traced Fuse 9 load side to 3 ECU pins on the “bad” ECU connector. None of those harness pins show continuity to ground with ECU disconnected. ECU opened. No visible PCB damage, burning, or water ingress. At this stage I’m trying to figure out, is it a dead ECU, or a short I haven't found, anyone else seen this? I've never know these ECUs to fail, usually they always give a fault, so cant see it been the ECU thats the cause. I’m trying to avoid throwing an ECU at it without being certain the harness isn’t capable of killing the replacement. Any help appreciated. John
