  1. I was happy enough with the £140 for the Bosch. I would have paid double to get rid of the heavy steering. Next job is the engine management light which we have worked out to be a non Audi MAF. It’s on back order, after that it’s a heated steering wheel upgrade however plenty online with regards to that and parts already here. It is almost the perfect car ! 🙄

  3. I had an electrical burning smell a few days ago then noticed I had no front camera when parking as the screen went blue. I have had a look online for a replacement but not sure of the part no. as they seem to fit multiple models over the VAG. I have a 2014 3.0 tdi Sport SE. If anyone has knowledge of the correct part no. I would appreciate any info. James
  4. I am so glad you messaged, I was working this morning and I got a txt from my garage with that price for a Bosch battery. I have just a look on eBay and re ordered £140 for the same item. Happy days 😀
  5. Gareth, Thanks for this it makes a lot of sense. My car has been sluggish to start so this works well with your suggestion as it is electrically assisted powered steering. I have ordered a new battery £220 😳 and will update once fitted to see if that was the culprit 😀👍🏻. James
  6. I had my winter wheels on 18” my car normally runs on 20” and they were fine for a good few weeks. I noticed especially on cold days a stiffness to the steering normally at the start of my drive which eased off later. This eventuality got worse to the point it was really stiff to turn. I actually had my car at the garage to check the fault when I got my 20” back from refurbishing and got the garage to put them back on. Hey presto the stiffness has gone, well for a couple of days anyway. Its back but not as bad however it was icy this morning so stiffer again which eased off later. Not sure if it actually an issue with the steering or maybe a sensor which is affecting. I have the lane assist which tightens the wheel so by virtue of the fault being intermittent could it be this. A genuine fault with the power steering would surely cause the stiffness to be permanent. Would I not get an error message through. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My garage didn’t ever find anything. Thanks
  7. I have a 2014 A8 which doesn’t have a heated steering wheel. It was obviously an option so the question I am asking is what would it take to fit? The steering wheel with the heating element, also the switch to turn on and off situated next to the steering wheel adjustment. Would it just be a case of swapping/adding these items as I suspect the wiring should be there or am I thinking it too simply. Any advice assistance would be appreciated. Thanks James
  8. I have had my 2014 A8 3.0tdi since August this year. The engine light flickered on and off a couple of times after 6 weeks of ownership. In early November is came on permanently and was quickly extinguished by my garage after plugging it in and clearing some old fault codes. That doesn’t last long 30-40 miles and it comes on again, after some checks a split hose was found which unfortunately wasn’t the cause. I was always planning a remap so decided this might be the right time to do it. Remap all done and up to 300bhp with 650nm torque. Yet again on way home after another 30 miles of driving the engine management light came back on followed soon after by the flashing coil and into limp mode. The limp mode is quickly fixed by turning car off and on but I need help with the light any suggestions? Thanks FullSizeRender.MOV
