  1. Hi there would a m6 bolt not do. that's what i use on mine. edit also if you have the cam holding tool to set the timing you might find that you can move the cams slightly putting the chain one link out.
  2. Ok so after finding the problem i had to use the car to get to work but took it steady and the car ran fine. must have a default setting in case sensor fails. replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor and the car has been as good as new. so anyone with the problem of the epc light and power loss try unplugging the sensor and running it, if it still happens then you know the sensor is good if the car runs fine then the sensor has failed or on its way out. Hope this helps someone
  3. Ok after giving the car a coat of looking at and testing a few things i've found that if i disconnect the fuel rail pressure sensor g247 the car will start and rev. will it be ok to run it like this till i can get a new sensor monday or will it damage something more serious.
  4. Hi there had this when I did my tensioner on a4 2.0fsi the cam locking tool allows the exhaust cam to turn slightly and you get the chain one notch out. Check the chain I had to turn the right hand cam one tooth anti clockwise as looking from the front. Hth
  5. Hi all. I acquired an audi a4 2.0l fsi on a 53 plate around 10 months ago with a top end rattle, which i diagnosed to the cam chain. so that got replaced as well as the cps and it's been fine since until the other day. Was coming home from work and whilst driving on the motorway the epc light came on and car lost all power, pulled over and it went out. stopped the engine and restarted no problems so carried on home and put it down to low fuel(called at the garage on way home and filled up). i scanned the car with a code reader and it showed P1020. so cleared the code and day after car ran fine. Yesterday went out shopping and on the way there ran fine on the motorway and when i came off and was in traffic epc light kept coming on then off, if i stopped at traffic lights it would idle fine but when i set off again epc light would come on for a few seconds and then would go out until i stopped again. parked up did shopping and set off back home. On way home ran fine again until i got near home and it started again, managed to get it home just, but now it wont start, it tries revs get to 3/400 but just dies straight away. scanned for codes and now its saying there are no codes. question is could it be the in tank pump that has packed in or am i looking at something more sinister. Many thanks steve
