    Your right about the q7!

I tell you now by my reconing the money I'm spending on both my a6 and my Ford escort I could easily run an a8 instead!

Man a3 with a w12 now that would be something. You'd have to cut the engine bay and body to pieces though!

I tell you what mite be feasible with the right engineering and enough money! x2 2.5 TFSI lumps bolted onto a custom bottom end to make a v10. would still probably need to a lot of cutting still and a lot of custom parts but that would be sick! :yahoo:

@Rob82DZL i think this a mobile web issue can you use a PC or laptop?

Hi Paul, I've sorted it now. I was trying from my laptop after it wouldn't work from my phone. Tried both logging in with Facebook and normal login!

What sorted the issue was I copy and pasted the link into google then clicked it from there and it was fine! Funny enough the link is correct just wouldn't let me follow the link direct from the forum.

All sorted and paid for now :yahoo:

  3. I had this same issue on my old 2003 A4 1.9TDI and also on a 2003 A3 1.9TDI and in both instances it was the rear near side brake light bulb! (figure that one out but apparently quite common!)

If it's not that then that's the super cheap option gone!

  4. Hi mate, not seen a reply to whether you've got it sort or not but from reading through the thread I've got another couple of thing you can check.

Check the throttle body for a ring of carbon and it doesen't have which can cause it to almost stick shut when slowing down.

Another possiblity with the throttle body is if it's solonide operated while you can see it get someone to turn the ignition on (but not start it) and you should see it open a very minuet fraction.

One other thing, not to sound daft but when you changed the plugs did you gap them correctly or put them in straight out the box? Even from new the plugs need to be correctly gaped with feeler gauges.

And one last posibility could be the throtte potenciometer in the accelerator pedal but you need to find out what the resistances are ment to be at different throttle opsition before reading with a multimeter.

Hope some of this helps 😊.

    Thank you all.

All the doors unlock from key fob when I press unlock button two times.

    Sorted :)

Hi mate I seen that your sorted. However, what year is your car? The reason I ask is that as mentioned about the function to change the behaviour isn't on the MMI on an A3 but can be changed with the menu operated from the wiper stalk.

    Just a thought 😊.

  6. To elabourate on the point made above with regards checking the pipe work. I had practically the same issue on an A4 1.9TDI and it turned out to be air being sucked from a leak just after the MAF sensor.

Another posibility could be the vacuum pipe off the actuator, I've seen it where they can rub/ware though causing a vacuum leak. As a result the incorrect boost is made for the rpm which causes the engine management to flash.

If either of these senarios are right you say you don't have a power issue but if so you should notice a gain once sorted.

    Hope this helps 😊.

  7. Hi all, new member here.

Quick bit about myself (very quick). I'm a bit of an Audi fan boy which is why I find myself here. I do most of my own work on my car and quite handy with a spanner, or two!

I've owned a few Audi's over the last few years (unfortunatly most didn't make it 😭) and I currently drive an A3 170 TDI S-Line Quattro. (I'll most likely post a pic once it's been washed! She's a bit dirty at the moment).

I'll be going to Castle Combe on the 16th Sep so hopefully meet some of the members there for a chat with other like minded guys (the boss indoors give me the green light 😊).

    Rob.
