  1. Thanks for your quick response and the link to that video. He makes it look pretty easy 👍
  2. Another little issue. I've noticed a pool of water under the front of the car. It's dripping through the joint between the bumper and the engine under tray. It's water and has a hint of detergent. It is below the radiator but coolant levels all good. I thought AirCon condensation at first but apparently that vents off further back and to be honest I dont rememebr ever seeing it drip before and the Aircon got a hammering last yeah. I think it must be a joint for the piping to the headlight washers. Anyone else experienced anything similar?
  3. Hello, I'm not sure if this forum is still active or not. if it is, has anyone experienced a sound similar to the old dump valve sounds of the old petrol turbos on their diesel? Mines a 2.0tdi 170ps from a 2010 special edition C6. Recently on stop start type journeys when the car is full warmed I've occasionally had a noise which sounds a bit like type of noise you'd had made as a kid when pretending to fire a laser. Only happens when changing gear at low revs. The car behaves normally, in every other way, just a scary noise. Normally rights it's self. Only happened 3 times over the past few months, each time when traveling very slowly. My mechanic said it sounds like the waste gate might be sticking. I have a warranty on the car bought through Sytner Select but it needs diagnosing properly before I can make a claim. The car has down 82k I'm hoping someone has experienced something similar to find out if it's something that might be common and something I can get sorted under the warranty. The car has been well maintained. Thanks
  4. Hi, I've had to replace my roof bars when moving to the A6. I got a set of Mway roof bars from my local motorcare store. They were around £80. But just doing a quick google and these show up.https://www.aldi.co.uk/135cm-open-rail-roof-bar/p/014953278678201?gclid=Cj0KCQjwt_nmBRD0ARIsAJYs6o1ShxuxQciH0ToyAFxhTycYtGG4n5mvqTsR7OHJ4IfemN2GrlsNKhUaApFxEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Any roof bar that is long enough and can fit the flush roof rails will do. They dont have to be specific to Audi.
  5. I'd prefer a bigger engine one ideally, but doesn't seem to be any in my price range or they have big miles on them etc.
  6. As far as I'm aware the 2.0d is a belt. It says it had "teethed belt and water pump" changed at 55k
  7. Thanks Matti I've already checked the MOT and all adds up. No other history though. Its had 2 owners too. Its a London based car, so may well only be driven on occasion. I'm favoring the higher mileage one with full history. Timing belt done at 55k etc. Safer bet i think. Its still a below average mileage car. I havent been lucky with cars in the past. Bought some bargains which dont stay bargains for long. Hence now looking for quality used cars and happy to pay a premium for a little peace of mind.
  8. Thanks for your reply Paul After doing some digging, the newer car doesn't have a full Audi history, the older one does. I've seen another 2011 with only 35k on the clock. Although a bit wary of this one. Its a 7 year old diesel that's only averaged 5,000 a year 😬
  9. Hello there. I'm completely new to Audi having just had my 320d tourer written off after driving it into a puddle and wrecking the engine. I want something bigger than the 3 and a change from BMW. So I have a couple of questions to help me find the right car. Initially I looked at A4 Avant, but after reading a few article, the A6 seemed a better choice for me. So, I'm looking for a new A6 Avant. My budget will allow a high spec low mileage 2011 C6 s-line special edition or a higher mileage, standard spec 2012 C7 s-line. Both will be 2.0tdi's. (although I've seen a 2.7dti C6 but lower spec and higher mileage) Reliabilty and running cost is my main concern. I think both look great so aesthetics is not an issue. I was wondering if the later 2012 model had issues being the first of the new model and therefore the older C6 may be better being the last of its model and all issues ironed out. I think I'd be looking at the Manual box to avoid cost of issues with the multitronic. So questions 1) which would be the better car to buy, top spec C6 or lower spec C7 2) What issues should I be looking out for on either model 3) Open to suggestions if there are other options. Thanks in advanced, will no doubt be stalking around here many more times in the future. Chris
