  2. Hello guys my 25 Audi a6 40 TDi ( C8.5 ) has just done 4500 miles and the oil low message has popped up . is this one from Costco compatible with my engine ? Thanks in advance !
  3. Today
  4. Thanks for this. Seems like it's the only option to get at the bolts behind the hub!
  5. Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a go if can't find a drain somewhere
  6. Pretty sure you'll need to undo drive shaft bolt and remove lower balljoint so you can withdraw driveshaft and CV from hub to see. A wobble impact triple square is handy. See videos for Dave Sterl on YouTube. He's done A4, so can't see A3 being different. You'll need a new driveshaft bolt, and torque with wheel off the ground. Bearing wise, F.A.G. every time. Make sure hub face is spotless before fitting. Wire brush attachment on a drill, that sort of thing.
  7. I guess what you are feeling is crystallised Adblue, which is a common problem in such systems, and presumably why you want to drain the tank. In theory Adblue, which is principally urea, is very soluble in water so it should be possible to flush the crystals out with a stream of cold water. However I have never had anything to do with Adblue in my car so I do not know how practical the idea would be.
  8. Good morning everyone, It's been a while since I last posted on here. But once again I require the help of the experts. For whatever reason I need to drain my adblue tank. I have looked on line, tried putting a line down the filler neck but it just doesn't feel right. There seems to be something stopping the pipe going down and there are what I can only describe as ridges. Does anybody know if there is a drain plug or do I just persevere with the filler neck and syphon it out. Thanks in advance to any and all who can help Simon Sorry guys should have said car is 2015 A4 2.0tdi 163 ultra.
  9. Check the earthing of the lamp unit.
  10. Nice! Subtle mods for the win 😎

  12. Hello everyone I'm new to this and also just got my 1st ever audi s3 8pa sportback 2011, I'm having trouble with my drivers side rear led lights they sometimes come on but most of the time they are off causing a error on my dash, checked the wires no visible damage also cluster is clean I bought the car and the same side wasn't working so got a second hand inner and outer lights and been fine for a few months and now having the same problem in the same side, I have fully working brake light and reverse light and fog light but led part not working any help please its doing my head in now thanks
  13. Not heard of the sunroof cracking, I have heard that you can't have side steps, sunroof and a towbar due to the weight limits.
  14. Picked up as 3rd owner 2 months ago so cannot be sure - no apparent evidence of damage or misalignment though. Door latch seems to operate as normal when door is open position and tested with key lock and interior/exterior handle. As mentioned though - soft close mechanism does not make any noise even when door is closed “fully”
  15. HI, I'm having a similar issue on my B7 and this seems to be a thread that is looking at similar issues, so I hope you don't mind me hopping on it! So today randomly by reverse beeping cut out. It may be unconnected but it happened shortly after connecting my phone to bluetooth (I disconnected it a couple of years ago as I was going to sell the car, but never got around to that, and never got around to reconnecting bluetooth!) I've checked and reverse lights come on, so I believe that means the reverse switch is working. When put in reverse, I can feel vibration on each of the four reverse sensors. But there is no beep, not even a beep at the start to tell you that you have selected reverse. Does anyone have any ideas of what to test to narrow this down. Or alternatively, what do you check on VCDS (I have an old copy somewhere!) Thanks in advance to any assistance!
  16. Hi, I'm using EBC yellow at the minute, I've bought mintex 1801 as replacements. Have I made the wrong choice?
  17. Especially when it's laced with sarcasm.
  18. Don't think I will be getting the most liked content then!
  19. Need some advice, hopefully someone can help. Today tried changing the front wheel bearing but didn't get very far. The issue is that one of the torx retaining bolts on the inside of the wheel bearing housing is partially obscured by the driveshaft and it's impossible to get straight at the head of the bolt. I'm sure someone on here managed a workaround. Cheers
  20. We are taking our A3 Convertible 2017 (facelift) to France in a few weeks and I am unable to find out if the headlamps auto adjust (as they do on our 2022 A4). I have found some info which suggests that this is dependent on whether they are LED or Xenon with turning lights. However, this info also refers to an adjuster found in the vehicle settings in the MMI. I have checked, and there is nothing in the MMI. A/Will the lights auto adjust? B/ If not, do they need to be adjusted by a dealer, or is it possible to put headlamp deflectors on. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know. Thanks for your help.
  21. Time you learnt some patience. It has been less than a day since you posed the question. If you get no reply after three or four days it would reasonable to assume none will be forthcoming. 53 views does not equate to 53 people able and willing to help.
  22. Has the door been removed or damaged? If so, it would be worth looking for some misalignment of the hinges or lock hasp. If that aspect is fine then I suspect the lock inside the door is defective.
  23. Lets have another go. Hi I have an Audi A4 2006 Convertible B7 it has an Audi Concert B7 soul currently in place. I recently purchased an Android 13 for an Audi A4 S4 RS4 2002-2008 Wireless 7 inch. I attempted to fit it this last weekend but I was unable to get it to fit. Does anybody out there in the Audi wilderness now which one would fit or why the one mentioned didn't.
  24. Great Forum this. I was always under the impression that forums are to help each other 53 views but not one reply!
  25. Hi All Hopefully some one will already have tried and found the answer to this question. We have recently bought a Q5 with Tech pack pro. This includes a B&O sound system. We are having a bit of bother getting our I phones to stay connected so I wondered if a USB memory stick with music on could be a music source? ( We are also having a bit of bother getting connected to the UTR system, but that will be another post). I believe I have read elsewhere that the system does allow for this and will play back FLAC files. If so, what file system should be used when formatting the USB drive? Perhaps it doesn't matter? Look forward to your replies and sorry if it has been asked before. Andy
  26. I'm also concerned about leaving it too long I'm assuming wherever the oil is coming from is going ro run out at some stage
  27. I'm quite comfortable removing a drive shaft it is something I have done before and I have the tools from last time I did it , I was just wondering where the leak is likely to be from in that area, it's not from a boot as there is too much and I believe it would be grease rather than oil.
  28. Hello Joe, Are you intending to do this job yourself? If you are, you first need to confirm that it is actually a driveshaft seal that is the issue. I would not characterise this as an easy repair for DIYing, so you would need to ensure you have all the necessary equipment and experience to do this yourself. If you intend to get a garage to do it, then I would work on the principle of ‘ I have an undetected oil leak that aI need eliminating - can you first locate it and give my a cost to rectify it’? Kind regards, Gareth.
