Garage did diagnosis on ABS - do they have a duty to inform?

Garage ran diagnostic on my ABS dashboard light - do they have a duty to inform me of steering wheel light?

I brought the car in on monday for diagnosis, drove it home and then brought it back in Tuesday for repair. They text me monday to advise of the faults they had found and what will be needed to replace it - but no mention of steering wheel light (because it wasn't there)

They've done something to the vehicle and now trying to cover their tracks saying it was there Monday also not just the Tuesday (going back on what they said first).

So I'm wondering would they have a duty to inform me of that after running the diagnosis?

Thanks for any responses you've already helped me a bunch, I think I'll stick around on this forum
