A6 software update and ami installation

Featured Replies

Hi I've just purchased update only to find after day of stress I can't instal as DB activation can't be changed showing ?

Also how can I activate ami lead as not showing in mmi source selection

Thanks hope some one knows as I can't find answers on googlepost-1778-0-95338800-1375546779_thumb.jp

Have you purchased a genuine Audi DVD?  It needs activating at the Audi dealer with the codes on the inside of the booklet in the DVD case.

The AMI lead will only work if it has a blue collar near the and that plugs into the car.  If it is all black, it is for the early models and will not work with the MMI 3G system in your car.  Hope this helps.

Yes ami is conected blue cable yet nothing on menu sceen?? Thanks I'm guessing audi make a there money back somewhere down the line if you don't have options fitted.

There may be a problem with the AMI unit itself.  Is the AMI cable a new one, because they can be temperamental if they have been kinked at all.  I recommend you pop over to your local dealer and have a quick word, they may be able to just test a known good AMI cable for you before you look at an AMI fault.

I've had everything checked however still no ami showing in mmi 3G source selection only charging phone??

There must be a fault with the unit then, take it to the dealer

Crazy as I can't understand why audi won't touch a product they manufacture and supplied.

Audi Part numbers:

Diagnostic interface 4F0 035 909

iPod/iPhone Connection lead 5N0 035 554 B

AMI harness 7L6 035 727

Has it been coded properly into the MMI unit when it was retrofitted?  Its not just a plug and play situation installing AMI
