Rs5 brake pads

Featured Replies

Hi ... New here with an Rs5 convertible ... Quick question... I have some squealing when I brake softly... But it starts only when I use the brakes a little... When they warm up... Not ceramic... It's really annoying because I can't break softy...  Only sudden , if I don't wanna here the squealing, which gets louder the more I drive and use the break .. But again just when I press  it softly... Barely touching...  Was thinking to take it to service to change the brake pads but  has only 9 thousand miles .. And I used her just for roads ... No racing tracks.. And if I have to change the pads what would you recommend... Thank you...

HI Paul....welcome to the Forum!

It sounds like one (or more) of the brake pads is slightly sticking in the carrier and not returning.

Alternatively, if they are not worn excessively, take them out and put compound on the contacting metal parts.

If they are worn and need replacing shortly then I would replace them with quality pads.

Let us know how you get on with it

Regards   Trevor
