    Found the fault. Pulled up the carpet in the driver footwell to discover the comfort control module scuba diving. Opened up the module to find heavy corrosion so will be looking for a second hand unit. I had to remove the car battery under the bonnet to gain access the main rain water drain which is directly under the battery which was blocked causing the water leak into the footwells.
