  1. So you're wife can't get in the car? Why are you complaining? I'm here all week! I'm no expert by any means, but I don't think having it checked via laptop will tell you if the fob is faulty/on its way out. It may need new batteries. The laptop electrical check should pick up any problems within the car system itself, so it's positive that nothing was picked up there. Alternatively, if the fob can be opened, the fact that it works intermittently may suggest it just needs a clean. So yeah, those would be my two suggestions, clean the fob if possible or replace the batteries. Pretty basic I know, but hopefully it's nothing too complicated anyway, and the fact no problem was picked up by an electrical check suggests it probably isn't something within the car anyway.
