  1. lol Ive got one in the basket already for 47 quid, Audi oem part. And they are easy to fit.. but after spending thousands over the years at Audi dealerships, I want them to step up and take responsibility for a potentially lethal floor in my car… they should call me tomorrow with an update, I’ll keep you guys posted.
  2. Hi Southend Audi are robbing gits, I have used them when desperate as they are near to me, get the part number off the sticker and go on eBay they have loads ranging from s/h £25 to new £95, its only about three bolts and a plug about an hour if you take your time and drink lots of tea between bolts. Steve.
  3. hi andy, welcome to the forum.thank God nobody was hurt.never heard of this happening to anyone.hope you get sorted soon with a good outcome.kind regards stephen
  4. Hello Steven, Is the boot water in contact with any electrical junction boxes etc. or wiring? If so, this needs to be mopped up, all electrical components carefully dried with a hair dryer, before spraying with contact cleaner. It would also be worth having the battery efficiency checked, before engaging in any more expensive diagnostics. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on Steven. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. It is obviously desirable to fix the source of your leaks - usually the air vents, but a forum search should colour in the detail for you.
  5. Hello All, I appreciate all the help and advice I have received since posting, it has really helped me. My new car is a 2018 model and the independent specialist advised 5 years. I do around 80 miles a day to and from work, so will look at changing next year as advised, I was quoted £615 for Cam belt and water pump, so will also enquire re the auxiliary belt too so thanks. I didn't get to speak to the technician this time, just given the details, but on my previous visit he did speak to me, but any questions I would make a point to get my answers straight from the technician. Kind Regards Deborah
  6. Hi thats a rubbish quote the parts from TPS O.E. are about £180 and the garages are probably still thinking you have to remove the whole front bumper and radiator as was on older models, you don't, if you just remove the plastic cover above the rad and remove the top rad bolts with the correct timing pins its tight but doable. Steve.
  7. Hello Steve. I've already discovered the very expensive & not very reliable side to the dealership aspect of owning a second-hand Audi!! I'll list it if anyone is interested!? Thanks for the advice by the way.....I'll resist the temptation of Audi Connect. Are there any reliable independents in the Redditch/Bromsgrove area that you could point me at? The car is a 1.5 35 TFSI Petrol Auto, & to be honest, although I like the car, it does have a couple of annoying faults that I'm not keen on. Once again, many thanks, Woody.
  8. Hi depending on when you purchased the car you can go to trading standards and they may pick up the flag and petition them under the fit for purpose act, Audi wont care but if you also email VAG customer service they may well help you as they are not fans of this type of thing, I did the same last year when one of their approved franchise TPS were running me ragged over a part, the car was suspended on a four poster ramp for four days waiting for the part which was already paid for and was suddenly on back order three weeks so I emailed VAG customer services and explained my problem and dissatisfaction, the next day the part arrived with a red faced area manager who demanded to know who Steve was, the guy that put in the complaint, I stepped straight up and explained why, he went for the sympathy vote saying how much trouble I caused him, my heart bled for him not, VAG take things like this seriously its bad PR for them. Steve.
  9. Hi Matt, think you will find its a chain, or should I say 4 chains on the 3.0 v6, you can buy complete kits which has the chains, pulleys and tensioner guides, if still unsure check with your local independent parts suppliers, be sat down when they give you the cost though, and also be sat down when the garage gives you the quote for labour
  10. I’m not one to usually moan but I’ve owned a few Audis in my time.. And recent experiences have been awful! I bought an Audi RS3 from Hatfield Audi about 4 years ago and when I got it home realised the exhaust valves squeaked… when I took it back 4 weeks later (due to them being very busy) they advised it needed new discs and tyres all round and a new exhaust… totalling 5k ! I had to argue with them that I’d only just bought it and the reason I’d taken so long to get it back to them was they couldn’t fit me in… Took 3 weeks of telephone wars for them to finally admit they were at fault and to fix the problems.. just isn’t what I expect from a premium dealer..
