  1. Just a quick update in case anyone comes across similar problem. After removing parts of plastic trim around the steering wheel/column and above the pedals it became clear that the sound is actually coming from the part where the steering column enters the floor/bulkhead. There is a metal plate surrounded by a rubber part. The steering column goes into that metal plate. Some gentle prodding and plenty of lubricant in that area, especially under the edges of the rubber part seem to have sorted it out and the squeak appears to be gone, so I consider it fixed (at least for now).
  2. Thanks I’ll try parts finder .
  3. You are very welcome Nigel. Sounds great. Please let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  4. Hi many thanks I’ve got it in for brake check tomorrow and wheels are being refurbished today so they’ll take some pictures to re pad wear, thanks very much for the quick reply 👍👍
  5. The reason why Nigel?? The recently bought bit probably has something to do with it due to the possibility of vehicle standing with little use - on forecourts etc. Solution:- Renew discs and pads. You should find some competitive prices for quality Brembo parts from reputable sellers on EBay. Of course, you could just ignore the slightly reduced braking efficiency, and change them when the pads next need changing. How much pad thickness do you have left Nigel? Kind regards, Gareth.
  6. 1 point
It was the thermostat !! Thanks guys
  7. Gareth, Westridge Garage is the main dealer for Skoda and Mitsubishi and they will be the same price as the others. The original Audi main dealer, where I bought my car brand new from, is Esplanade Garage. They dropped the Audi dealership a few years ago after an argument with Audi but they are still dealing with VW, Mercedes, and more, but I wouldn't go back there after the way they treated all of us loyal customers, apart from that, they will be 100% more expensive than anyone else. I'll make some enquiries and I'll post back if I get a positive result. Thanks Tony
  8. Hello Tony, I feel I’m getting to the point of keeping on here, and it could just be me, but ‘……I will look up a garage with trained mechanics…. ‘ You must obviously chose to go wherever you want, but trying to qualify your statement - if it were mine, it would read ‘…..I will look up an independent VAG specialist ……’. As has been said ‘….garage with trained mechanics ….’ is likely to result in them fitting the best-deal-to-them battery. Good luck with this Tony. Kind regards, Gareth.
